Got some real harsh slaps today in the budget area of my ass. Thanks to the responsibilities I've got (which, thankfully are few), I've got very little paycheck left at the end of the month. With gas prices rising, I'm doing less, and spending more. I think my last big hurrah for the year was buying Metal Gear Solid 4, and a bike. I know... boo hoo, we're all in the same boat. I am going somewhere with this though. My budget allows ever so finite changes, so when I received my lease renewal today, a tiny $40 increase was like an iron punch to the gut.
I'm left with a few choices.
1) Find another place. If I'm lucky, I'll find something half the size for what I'm paying now.
2) Get a second job. BK is paying $10 an hour now, so I could try for just a few days a week. A friend offered to help me get a job that would be a good $5-6 an hour more than what I am earning now, but I would so get my ass fired from a machine shop in record time, so options are that second job thing.
3) Get a roommate. This one is preffered... for now (it's been a while since I had a real roommate). The apartment is large, so we'd both have our space, and honestly... $250 (half the full rent) plus utilities and cable that usually never top $120 a month total would be a sweet deal. The problem with that is finding someone acceptable.
So readers... if you need a place to stay, or know someone trust worthy, get in touch. My landlords were good enough to let me know two months in advance, so I'll need help by September. Not a huge rush. Plenty of time to get used to the idea of flipping burgers too.

Yeah, my rent is going up by $50 on August 1st. That's awesome how pay doesn't rise but everything else does. Is it a sign of old age that we're noticing this now? Also, take my room mate. Please.
