  • Lies In The Textbooks Part 1 - Grand Canyon

I have no idea why I'm up at 4:00 a.m.  I just want to be in bed, but apparantly that's just a pipe dream this morning.  So, I'm going to do a creation post!!  But first, I'm really excited.  I am going to the zoo tomorrow with Raykendo  It's going to be fun to finally meet him in person and as most of you know, I am always up for the zoo!!  I will take my camera, of course, but I may not post pictures.  Only if it's okay with him.  He's pretty big about keeping himself annonymous, so if I do post them they will probably be in a protected post.  Either way... I'm psyched.  LOL!  Then, on Sunday my dad and I have to do some shopping and he basically said he wants to hit Wing Stop.  I will never turn that down!!

Okay... on to the creation post!

The following information, unless otherwise stated, comes from Dr. Kent Hovind of Creation Science Evangelism.  For more information on this and other Creation Science related subjects, visit www.drdino.com.

I am starting my series on "Lies In The Textbooks" today.  I want to start by making a bold statement here.  There is no, and I mean no, scientific evidence to back up evolution.  In this series, we're going to cover about 30 blatant lies in the textbooks.  There are hundreds we could cover!  Let me say, for the record, that I agree with Kent Hovind that it's a futile effort to try and stop evolution from being taught in schools.  In fact, I don't think that should happen.  I think any theory should be allowed to be taught if there is valid scientific evidence to back it up.  However, I think it's time our kids stopped being lied to!  I think we'll find that if we remove the lies from our textbooks then evolution will take itself away.  As Kent Hovind says, "That's not my fault!  They shouldn't have chosen such a dumb theory to begin with."

Wisconson has a law which requries factual accuracy in all textbooks.  So do Alabama and Texas.  In Florida the commissioner is required to remove books which are not accurate.  California says textbooks should be "factually accurate" and reflect "current and confirmed research."  Most states have laws requiring textbook accuracy.  The problem is, most states don't enforce them!

Let's talk about Grand Canyon for a few minutes.  Evolutionists will swear it took millions of years for the Colorado River to form the Grand Canyon.  (Which is ridiculous, by the way.  Take a look at the Grand Canyon.  Do you really think that little river formed that huge canyon?)

    untitled

Here's a fact about the GC.  It exists.  That's a fact, okay?  Now, there are two interpretations of how it got there.  The evolutionists will tell you that it formed slowly of millions of years.  The creationist, however, will tell you that it formed quickly in just a few minutes.  We'll cover more on that during the series "The Hovind Theory."

Here are some things you should know about GC.  First, if you built a dam across GC you would form a lake which would be huge... it would literally take up several states.  Some of the water of Wyoming drains through the GC.  Now, the canyon has an area which gets about 6500-8500 feet above sea level.  The river enters the canyon at a 2800 foot elevation.  The river flows downhill for about 270 miles.  If you look at that well, you can see that the ground goes up while the river goes down.  Few things to consider here.  First, and follow me carefully because this is going to be difficult to grasp, the top of GC is higher than the bottom.  Got that?    Second, the river only runs through the bottom.  Third, the top is higher than where the river enters the canyon by over 4000 feet.  And finally... I don't know about where you live, but rivers don't flow uphill in Texas.  Another point of contention: there's no delta.  Where's the mud that flowed out of GC?  No one has a clue.  That river did not make that canyon.  GC is a washed out spillway.  There used to be two lakes: Grand Lake and Hoppi Lake.  Those lakes are long gone, but the beaches are still there.  You can still see the beach lines!  For more information on this topic, please read Walt Brown's "In The Beginning," which, by the way, is a book we will be discussing more later on down the line.

Those lakes got too full and washed over the top of that dam in a hurry.  Any farmer will tell you, "once the lake goes over the dam, it's all over with."  Grand Canyon was formed in a hurry folks... as a result of the flood.  Almost all rivers come together at acute angles, less than 90°.  They merge and keep going together in the same general direction.  Now, if you look at GC, the lower left part of the GC, the rivers indeed come together at acute angles.  But if you look at the upper right, the rivers are flowing backwards!  They run backwards, hit the main channel, turn around and come back the other way.  Why would they do that?  This is called a barbed canyon.  There aren't many of these in the world, but this is evidence that a lake is draining.  Water flows off the dam, hits the river and turns around to come back in the other direction with the river.  Grand Canyon was not made by the Colorado River over millions of years.  That is lie #1 your kids are going to face in the textbooks.

I'll be back soon with more lies.  Some, that were even proven false by evoultionists years ago, which still reside in our textbooks.  We'll cover everything from hoaxes to misinformation which is still being taught to your kids as fact.  Be blessed friends and have a great weekend!  I love you all!
