Lies In The Textbooks Part 2 - The Geologic Column
The following information, unless otherwise stated, comes from Dr. Kent Hovind of Creation Science Evangelism. For more information on this and other Creation Science related subjects, visit www.drdino.com.
II Peter 3:3 tells us that in the last days there will be scoffers walking after their own lusts. People don't reject the Bible for any scientific reason, okay? They reject it because that book chaps their hide, and that's all it is. Even Sir Julian Huxley, one of the world's leading evolutionists is quoted as saying, "I suppose the reason we lept at The Origin Of Species was that the idea of God interfered with our sexual mores." So, there he's admitting it fully... that they embrace evolution, because the only alternative is God and that interferes with the lusts of the flesh. Sir Arthur Keith said, "Evolution is unproved and unprovable. We believe it only because the only alternative is special creation, and that is unthinkable." II Peter goes on to say that these scoffers will say "the way it's happening now is the way it's always been happening" and calls them willingly ignorant. In the Greek that means, "dumb on purpose."
James Hutton was the first man to propose that the earth was not 6,000 years old, but millions of years old. He believed the earth was brought here by uniformitarianism. That word literally means, "the present is the key to the past." He proposed that the slow, gradual processes that were happening today were the way it has always been and therefore it had to have taken much longer than a few thousand years to lay down the foundations of the earth. This was in the late 1700's.
Now, let's talk about the geologic column for a few minutes. The geologic column is the supposed layers of the earth, all laid out neatly in a row on a sheet of paper.
Now each layer of rock in this drawing was given a name, an age, and an index fossil. Now, keep in mind all of this was done in the 1800's before there ever was radiocarbon dating, or potassium argon dating, or any other "dating" method. So they didn't get these ages from any radiometric decay method. They just picked numbers out of the clear. blue. sky.
It's a fact that the earth has sedimentary layers. The question is, how did they get there? One group says they formed slowly over millions of years. The other group says no, they formed quickly during the flood in the days of Noah.
The geologic column is the evolutionist's bible. However, the only place you will ever find it is in the textbooks. It does not exist anywhere else in the world. A 1996 science textbook even admits it by saying, "if there were a column of sediments... unfortunately no such column exists." There is no geologic column. If there was, it would be 100 miles thick! Biology p. 385. It does not exist, and that is lie #2 being taught to your children. It's a drawing put together in the 1800's which cannot even be dated. (Beyond that, we will go into the unreliability of radiocarbon dating in a later blog.)
Let's look for a second at those layers.
Now, if that layer is really 10 million years old, don't you think it's going to rain every once in a while? In 10 million years? Why are there no erosion marks between the layers? Why are they stacked on top of each other just like a stack of pancakes? And by the way, why are there no soil layers between the rock layers? Don't you think some soil would have settled down in 10 million years?
The geologic column does not exist, folks. And those layers did not take 10 million years to form.
Be blessed! Love y'all!

Saved this to my computer to read later ~ blessings ~
Thanks hun! Prayers is all I need right now.I have a idea of how much I am not myself beleave me...it is like I am inside looking out...but am locked in myself...ya know?? Anyway I will get better...I had one good day and Satan is like hyperventalating himself and wants too work overtime on me now...HE WILL NOT WIN!!! God bless.
Great stuff, doll. Keep fighting the good fight. I'm glad you brought up why some evolutionists cling to their religion. The alternative puts them in a very bad place.
By the way, I thought about calling you tonight, but it was Heroes night. Plus, I actually did work I brought home from the job. Now, that's a first.
Hey///great post..I was asked to write a teaching on anointing...I will be doing a series ...so let me know what ya think...
Tell'em girl!!!!!!!
Awesome post once again.
There is a quarry just outide of the town's limit. It's said to be more than a hundred feet deep. Many people who work there are happy to point out dark layers in the rocks that are coral beds. Just how does a coral bed get to be in a hundred feet deep hole in northern Indiana? The geologic column cannot explain how petrified trees are found worldwide, sometimes upside-down and in multiple layers of said column.
But the picture you've shown us is one great big "erosion mark."
I remain baffled as to why people think this sort of thing is necessary for faith at all. Sigh...
ryc: Witnessing to whom? I understand why it's necessary from within a literalist interpretive framework, but apologetics is not supposed to be this inwardly focused. The challenge is that this sort of thing drives far more people from the Gospel than it attracts. The newly militant atheist movement loves "data" like this, because it makes tearing people away from Christ so very much easier.
That's not spoken in hatred, or in anger. But when unnecessary damage is being done, it would be remiss of me not to tell you about it.
I so thank you and I will let ya know when I need ya too call me lol...your so good too me...check out my post below the one I wrote today to what that man said too me...he is a MEAN person...we need to pray for him...for him too want too hurt so many people he must be hurting bad himself.
ryc: Perhaps within your community, this is a viable approach. I do understand that. But in the urban area in which I do ministry, creation "science" casts an additional and wholly unnecessary stumbling block in the path of those who might otherwise be open to the good news.
Angry arguments are certainly not acceptable within the faith. They tear us apart, and hardly show the world a community unified by the Royal Law. But it is legitimate to discuss and to be open about where people of good conscience disagree. I would not expect you, for instance, to agree with my deep concerns about the doctrine of literal inerrancy. However, were you to question my approach, I would be required to consider your questions and respond in a manner that showed that even in disagreement, we are governed by Christ's love. That hardly tears apart the Kingdom. The greater danger is that we allow ourselves to become insulated and insular, surrounded only by people who agree with everything we say. In that sort of sealed environment, error can easily overcome us.
Hmmm, interesting comments from Beloves Spear. I understand that believing one thing against another does not necessarily mean you do or do not have faith in God. However, the more lies that you believe, the more likely you are to follow and worship the Devil. That is just what he wants, too. He want to confuse people and make people question what is right..anyway. You know all this. Thanks for the post!
I like the new layout also! The plaid is hynotyzing but perty! hehe ( all kinds of spelling errors! geez..I am blaiming my exhaustion! hehe)
ryc: I am quite partial to creation myself. It is, as St. Augustine taught, the First Book of God. I just believe that all of spacetime in its infinite vastness tells the glory of God.
Don't worry. You didn't come across as angry. I was more concerned that you would interpret my comments as stemming from anger, which they do not.
Jennifer, keep putting up the posts! We cannot expect all people to appreciate what we have to say, despite the fact that we speak the Truth. If a person is sure that they are speaking the truth in love with a pure heart before God, it really does not matter who does not like, now does it? I don't agree with the idea that we should not present creation science facts because it will drive people from the Gospel. I believe that the Lord wants us to use whatever "weapons" we have at our disposal to dispel the darkness around us and to bring His light to bear on all around us. Just be obedient to the Lord. If you are fully convinced in your heart that He wants you to continue to post creationism, then by all means do so. After all, xanga is sort of like TV in that you don't have to read someone's post--you can decide to go elsewhere if you like.
Blessings to you Jennifer.
its ok grew up sb myself...but the anointing did not mean you had to have oil... -b/c it is a position of authority being given... earthly actions reflect Heavenly ones....I will explain more..its a very indepth study..LOL I may go deeper than most want me too...but everything I say I will back up with the WORD as proof...
SUCH a good point about how people reject God and the Bible because it doesn't jive with their desires of the flesh. Even those of us who believe in both often struggle with the continuous battle between what we want and what we KNOW God wants, if the two should diverge.
Also, RYC: Isn't that just ridiculous???? I couldn't believe it. Lots funnier in hindsight than during, though, let me tell you!
ryc: I know exactly how you feel, because mine is too.
The oddest thing of all is that the whole point of Paul's diatribe in Romans 1 is to convict his audience about their own sinful self-righteousness. 2000 years go by, and we still miss the point.
Ryc: No...the Core plan is totally different than the Flex plan which is the points plan. The core is you get to eat as much as you want until you get satisfied but heres the catch...there is a list of foods for the core plan that you can only eat, if a certain food isn't on the list then it comes off your 35 extra points you have per week. I think I'll do the flex plan and count my points and if that doesn't work for a week then I'll try the core.
good post as usual! way to tell it like it is...
ryc: so far everyone has said about the same thing: go to your local pet store and buy a doggie diaper. i knew they made them but i didn't know if our pet store would have them or how much they would cost. i know i've seen them online before but it's a little late for me to do that now... but that would work for you to go ahead and buy one online before it happens! =P
This beloved_spear guys absolutely does not get it. He needs to get a clue.

The geologic column doesn't exist? Tell that to the CREATIONISTS who made it. Lol.
