Pride In The Church...

Currently Reading
White (The Circle Trilogy, Book 3) (The Lost History Chronicles)

see relatedThis won't be long. Just need to rant.
I have seen so many instances of pride in the church lately. I won't go into details because I don't want this to turn into a debate or be accused of being "slanderous" as I have been before. But I just want to know... what happened to humility? What happened to being the servant? What happened to leadership by service? What happened to giving GOD the glory??
I'm not saying we're perfect and will accomplish this every single time. But I am saying that these days, more often than not, I'm seeing pride over humility. It saddens me.
Thoughts?

I have to say, and I'm thankful for it, that right now I'm not seeing that in people (Believers) around me. I will say, I have seen it, and not too long ago at that, so I do understand your frustration. Personally I think every sin I can think of always come back to pride...at the heart of the issue. I struggle with it every day.
Thanks for your birthday greeting to Jonah :)
Blessings

I don't see alot of humility ANYMORE..I see greed..I see THANK-YOUS for themselves NOT god..People are FORGETTING they are children of GOD..People are forgetting GOD..Placing his prayers out In the cold..Not giving a shit..Not SAYING thank-you and please..Not saying excuse me PEOPLE are forgetting there manners there love for GOD..Tis sad doll..But what can we do other then believe what we believe..We can ONLY lead the (believers) to the water but can't make them drink from It..
Amen. It's all gone
Pride is among one of the church's many issues. The leaders can be prideful of the numbers in the chairs being high and that most of them attend Sunday School. The fellowship people can be prideful about certain recipies and how much they raised. We are sometimes like the man who said to himself "Look at what I've accomplished, I know what I'll do, I'll tear down my barns and make bigger ones to store my grain. Then I can tell myself, relax, eat, and enjoy." Few sentences employ the use of I, me, and my, more than these few. Of course, we know how it ended for him. It would be worse for us because we have many examples of what not to do.
