Yesterday, thousands of you jammed phone lines on Capitol Hill to fight global AIDS and extreme poverty, asking your Senators to keep critical AIDS, TB and malaria programs running around the world. That's an amazing result - and we have a little more time to make our voices heard.
It's important we keep up the positive pressure, so please keep dialing 1-800-786-2ONE (1-800-786-2663) and ask your Senators to support the Santorum-Durbin Amendment for global AIDS funding.

Today, the U.S. Senate considers a crucial vote that could make a real difference for the world's poorest people. Without our help, an important international initiative called the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria may have to cut life-saving prevention, care and treatment for millions. Also, the Global Fund is an international effort and U.S. contributions challenge other countries to do their share - under U.S. law, the Global Fund does not receive U.S. funding unless each dollar is matched by two dollars from other donors. Remember, AIDS kills 8,500 people every day, TB kills 5,000 and malaria kills over 3,000 in Africa alone - every day.

If you haven't called yet or had trouble getting through due to yesterday's overwhelming response, please take one minute to call the two Senators from your state TODAY. Remember, ONE has set up this toll-free number to connect you directly to your Senators' offices in Washington, DC. After talking to one Senate office, be sure to call the number again to connect to your OTHER Senator.

If you have already called, please forward this email to 3 friends and family members, and ask them to join you in making a difference in the fight against global AIDS and extreme poverty.

Call 1-800-786-2ONE (1-800-786-2663) today to be connected directly to your Senators. Together, we can help fight back against these killer diseases and help encourage other countries to do their share in this effort.

Thank you,

The ONE Team
