| | Okay y'all, I need input. I am honestly going absoultely i-n-s-a-n-e (not just insane, but i-n-s-a-n-e. Get that?) because I just want to get this writing course done and over with. I feel like I've been looking forward to it for entire life. I have three exams, and then I'm DONE. All of which I have to write something for. And I've got a dozen or more stories that I've started, but have frozen. I don't know where to go. If I do a short story, then it has to be at least 3,000 words. I get seem to get out the last 2000 or so in a story that I know has potential if I could just keep it going. I'm just stuck. In everything. Great ideas come so easily, I'm just having trouble making them work lately. I'd also like to write a children's story (for that one, if it's a short story, then it only has to be 1,000 words). But I want you guys to help me out. Give me an idea. It doesn't even have to be a full plot (because if you have a detailed plot before you ever start writing, you tend to want to stick exactly to it and that just stifles creativity and makes for a weak, unbelievable story)... or just give me an opening line and I'll go from there. Sometimes the best stories are ones where the writer doesn't even know what is going to happen next. But an opening line has to be an attention grabber. The reader has to be interested enough to keep going. I have a bunch of ideas that I'm trying to make happen, but I always welcome more ideas.
And while I fully expect you all to be goofy and stupid, I'd appreciate some real ideas as well.
Because I am desperately just wanting to finish. I want to move on. I know what I want, and I can't reach for it until this is finished and out of my way. |
