So...

Currently Watching
Elizabethtown (Widescreen Edition)
see related

When I first saw commercials for Elizabethtown, before it hit theaters, I wanted to see it. Not because it looked interesting, but because I wanted to find out what in the world it was about. Most movie trailers give you at least some idea of what the movie is about. That's the point of a trailer. But after seeing the one for Elizabethtown, I was intrigued. It lacked any information whatsoever. I had absolutely no idea what it was about. So anyway, I watched it today, and now, after having seen it... I still have absolutely no idea what it's about. It's just a really dumb movie, and while I'm a fan of neither, I know that Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst are better than this.
I liken it to Garden State. I will never (EVER) again waste my time on Garden State. It was such a strange plot (not to mention a plain filthy movie) that didn't make a whole lot of sense. And the cinematography in both movies resemble each other.

So, basically, what I'm trying to say is... Elizabethtown stinks. And so does Garden State. Do yourself a favor and never watch either.

On another note... click here. Go down to the bottom left videos, and watch Gabe's three stop motion clips. I've been entertaining myself with these the past couple of days, even though I've seen them several times before. You have too much time on your hands, boy.

haha!  I loved both movies.  I like different movies though...I get sick of the cookie cutter material that is in most movies.  The movie was quite interesting really.  I tend to really analyze movies.  I tend to really get into looking at movies from every angle.  I dunno I'm crazy like that.  haha.  =)

Talk to ya lada girl!

haha because you definetely know me.  I like those crazy plot movies.  The ones that by the end of the movie you are like what the heck was that even about?!  Like Eternal Sunshine was awesome...I like films like that.  It's kind of interesting I guess....haha.

We need to definetely catch up SOON!  It's been awhile!

I will come out of quasi-hiding to disagree with you about Garden State, Beth. Not about it being filthy; it certainly was. But the plot was pretty straight forward, in my opinion. The theme was clearly liberation; the guy was on mood-altering med's since he was a little kid and was now able to FEEL emotion. He was finally truly alive. Other themes were love (obviously), redemption/forgiveness (his gravedigging friend who tracks down his mother's jewelry), coming of age/asserting one's self (he finally confronts his father about medicating him when he didn't need it/the accident wasn't his fault)... And all wrapped in a non-"cookie cutter"-ish fashion with clever wit, original characters, odd twists and, yes, gratuitous filth (which I neither condemn nor condone, I assure you).

And that's all I have to say about... that. Thank you, have a nice day.

It's okay. A lot of people disagree with me on that one. I still think it's a terrible movie, though.
