NOT FUNNY, God!!

So... I mentioned to my mom a little bit ago that "at least I don't have to work on Thanksgiving." It hit me just a few minutes ago... a conversation that I had with some people at work a month or so ago...

Laura and Callie are talking about the craziness of Thanksgiving and blitz day (Black Friday).
Me, very sarcastically: "Too bad I won't be here."
Calle: "What?"
Me: "I won't be here."
Callie: "You have to be here!"
Me: "I'm going to be out of town."
Callie: "You'll be fired."
Me: "...excuse me?"
Callie: "Those are the two days of the year you absolutely can't call in, and can't get off. It's mandatory. If you don't show up they'll fire you."
I stare at her.
She stares at me.
Jim and Laura stare at us staring at each other.
Me: "Well what the heck am I supposed to do?!?!?!?!?!?!"
Callie: "I don't know, but they won't let you off."
Me: "Fantastic."
I am no longer counting and sorting the money into my drawer, but instead am slinging bills at it.
Callie: "The only way they'll let you off is if you're in the hospital."
Me: "Well then maybe I'll break my leg!"

At least I didn't break it.
