Thanks for the prayers. Brandon has "Erythema Nodosum". Actually, that is kind of a broad term that covers several conditions. When he told me what the doctor said it was, I kinda gasped, because I know it can be caused by Sarcoidosis and Lupus, not diseases that you want to have. But most likely the condition is associated with his Ulcerative Colitis. It is an autoimmune condition that will come and go. Right now he is going through a flare-up, and the symptoms can be very much like a bad flu, including severe fatigue. A flare-up can last 6 months. There's basically nothing that can be done besides taking anti-inflammatory drugs, using compresses, bedrest and elevation of the affected leg. But I am going to call my rheumatologist just to make sure.
EDIT: I forgot to add that the most obvious symptom is he has developed hard, swollen knots on one leg. They turn red, and are painful.
