Update: 7:20 p.m....I just read in the paper that all army troops currently deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan have their 1 year deployment extended to 15 months. That means my cousin's husband, Tom, stays 3 months longer. He has been in Iraq since last July. His son is supposed to get married in October, so he will miss that. He already missed his high school graduation 4 years ago because he was in Bosnia then.
Update 4:40 p.m...I just remembered a third dream I had last night, but it wasn't quite so scary. I dreamed VBS had started, and we had no curriculum or crafts for the kids. I know where that one comes from....I'm the VBS director, and I'm starting to feel pressure. Our VBS is July 23-27.
I found an interesting video about the Middle East. Watch Fighting for Iraq. It's kind of long, but gives a good overview of what's happening over there. It also explains what will happen if American troops are pulled out, and I thought it was quite interesting to find out this journalist's point of view. I was a little surprised.
This video was on Ray's site, but I had seen it on the news back when it was originally broadcast. I admire this guy:
Yesterday I stopped by the military surplus store to pick up some more decals. I saw an elderly man, probably 70-something, walk right up to where I was standing. He walked with a cane, and had a limp. He was also looking at decals and bumper stickers. I'm sorry to say it didn't even occur to me to ask if he was a veteran, and thank him. I just assumed he was, but I did not say anything to him. It's mostly because I'm kind of shy around strangers.
I'm sitting here cracking up at some of Cathy's (chatcat42) stories. If you haven't seen them, read the comments on my last post. Read the one about her pastor spanking her with his dinner plate (He's actually her husband.)
Beth did go back to work today, but only because she did not want to be short 2 days on her paycheck next week. She does not get sick time. She had cold medicine for lunch today.
Bethany also has a new Mad Libs going on her site. Check some of the comments. She says this one will be good.
I had 2 horrible dreams last night. When Beth came home for lunch, it reminded me of one of them, because she came in the house, carrying Whiskers on her shoulder. No...Whiskers is not a guy...he's a cat.
I dreamed that for days, we had been seeing Whiskers with red around his mouth and down his front. We finally realized in the dream, it was blood. He started screaming (kind of like when 2 cats fight) and then he just died. I don't have a clue why I dreamed that.
Then the other one....I dreamed that Steve and I were arguing about something. I cannot remember all the details now, but I dreamed he separated into 2 different personalities. I can't explain the whole dream, but it really scared me, and when I saw the 2 personalities, I woke up with my heart racing. I felt the unmistakable feeling of evil in the room - not in the dream, but in real life. Some of you will think I'm crazy....and some will know exactly what I'm talking about.
Once again, Satan knows exactly what he's doing. I'm not going to sleep tonight.
