Urgent Prayer Request

Midnight....I'll be around to see everybody tomorrow. I have an early doctor's appointment in the morning.

1:50 p.m....As I was posting, I got the message from Carolyn (JusticeMom) . Paula's (heyheypaula)  husband passed away today. It was sudden and unexpected. Please be in prayer for their whole family. He never got to see their granddaughter that will be born in November. A neighbor saw him lying in the yard and told Paula. When she got to him, he was already gone.

Paula and Billy's daughter is Paula Beth (pbplays88) and Billy's sister is Merrilee (Auntie_M_710).

Yesterday was Paula's birthday.

*Sigh* You give some people the password to your Xanga and they have to be a comedian (see previous post). I told her I'd get her back! I took a picture of her at church today and decided not to post it because I didn't think she'd like it. Maybe I should........

This morning our pastor told me that he doesn't usually try to be a matchmaker, but his wife's nephew would be in the service today. He's down here I think on business. He said he is not married (and never has been). He's in his 30's and a really nice guy.

I won't go into details (most of you know the details anyway), but the Oklahoma police officer that was wanting to date Bethany is no longer a possibility.

Late yesterday afternoon, a really bad storm moved over us, and we were apparently right in the center of it. The lightning and thunder was awful. They were pretty much constant. Our power kept going on and off, but finally sometime a little after 6:00 last night, we lost power completely. And it didn't come back on till just before 2:00 this morning.

No AC, no lights, no computer (no Xanga), no nothin. Our house is all electric so I couldn't even microwave anything or make coffee. Steve has to have a CPAP machine to sleep. I can't sleep without AC or ceiling fans, so I didn't even try till about 2:30 this morning.

At least it wasn't too hot, just a little warm. In 1983, after Hurricane Alicia, we did without power (thus no AC) for 4 days.....in August. Not fun.

Yes. He was officially diagnosed a couple of years ago. He was waking 52 times an hour in the sleep study.

There's a number of folks in our family who have sleep apnea. None of them believed they actually had it (or even that they snored!!) until their sleep studies! I don't know about you, but if someone told me they thought I had it, I'd be in the sleep study center faster than you can you can say "CPAP"!! I can't imagine how uncomfortable those things are to deal with every night but I'd rather have an open airway! I hope doctors become more accepting of their clientel being informed. With the internet and whatnot, it's so much easier to research and whatnot. I think docs should take that into consideration when dealing with patients. Just because they aren't physicians doesn't mean they aren't smart.

The CPAPs really aren't that bad. You get use to them after a while.

I worked with a girl who had a little girl 6 months before Brandon was born. She took her to the doctor (the girl's name is Lauren  ) and requested a certain medication that had worked for Lauren before. He told her, "I'm the doctor. I'll tell you what works." Then one day I had to take Brandon to the same doctor because he was on call for our doctor. Brandon had constant respiratory infections from allergies and was pretty much always on Dimetane DC. I asked that dr. to give me the Dimetane and not this other decongestant that we had used, but it didn't work well for Brandon (Naldecon). He gave me a prescription for the very med that I requested he NOT give me. He did it just to make sure I understood that he was in charge. Made me so stinkin mad.

RYC: I don't think that I could keep up with all that I do if I was 50! I guess that is why I am thankful for having my kids young. I see people my age with little ones and I have to just shake my head...I would be too dang tired!!
