| Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."
This verse puzzled some teenagers in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the girls offered to find out about the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study. That week, the teen called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest except her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest to burn away all the impurities. The teen thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The teen was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"
He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it" If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has His eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you. Whatever you're going through, you'll be a better person in the end. | | |

It was awesome! We spent the whole week getting to know the group from Ridgeways(the church in Nairobi) and the group from Fort Foote(the church from Maryland) and we walked around the whole week going door to door and talking about JESUS!!! YAY! But it was such a moving week. We got to go through the slums(the really bad places) on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday we went to the Mararui slum. And it was really good. The church there was called Mararui Baptist Church. It was founded by Dr. Frances Ngundu and it is growing rapidly. Just to see all the growth and potential is so amazing. When we were pulling into the church/slum, it was so moving because all the little kids would run beside the bus saying "Hi! How are you?" And it's so funny because that's all the english they know! Other than "fine" (a response to how are you). I made the mistake of saying GREAT! one time and all the kids just stopped mid-jump and starred at me for like five seconds then I said FINE! lol It was so funny!
Then on Friday we went to the Githogoro(it was the slum that made Mararui look like a playground). It was so moving. No kidding it took strength to walk through those places and see all the kids. They were so happy and smiled like you wouldn't believe. They didn't even know they were suffering. But what was worse is, Larry and Scott bought oranges to cut up and split between all the kids and that would be fine except, there were about 30 kids. They just gave me a sack full of them to start handing out and after about half of them, I ran out. It was awful. God really broke my heart over that.
but overall it was an amazing trip that i hope to take again. I'm going to try to put a few pictures on here from the trip but if you have FACEBOOK! you can look at them on there and if you don't have facebook.... you're sad. lol

First of all... it was good but a little upsetting. Because it was the 30th anniversary, i guess, we didnt do missions. Theat was very angering because that is why i chose to go there instead of going to Sondays Camp which i've gone to like every year of my life. lol but It was good because the music was amazing and all the people we met were REALLY cool. So yeah...
END OF LONG POST!!!
I hope all of ya'll have an amazing week... BE A BLESSING!

You scored as William Wallace. He just wanted to live a simple life on his farm, but he gave it up to help his country in its time of need.
