Back from the Hamptons!  It was a looooooooong week.

Wednesday:

Left my house at like 710am, got to work around 8...we left around 10 cause we had so much shit still to pack and they took awhile renting the van.  I had this WHOLE plan to sleep the whole way down. NOPE NOT ALLOWED.  I had to navigate the whole damn caravan.  I was in the only car with directions (cause my boss wasn't thinking...) and of course, the van AND truck that was following us decided to take a different way to teh Mass Pike then us... Grrr then *I* got yelled at cause we were so far ahead.  My boss also yelled at me when HE missed the exit that he called and WARNED us about...so I was NOT happy that night.  But whatever.  We got back, unpacked in our lush ass condos (I had my own FULL BED to myself! there was only 2 of us in this room.) and went and dropped flyers off at houses along the course.

Btw, a little background on why i was in the Hamptons to begin with.  I work at a sports marketing company/ event planning company.  We put on this race in Southampton on AUgust 2nd, 2003 that was AWESOME.  WE ROCK.  Though not as many people showed up as we hope:( Stupid weather.

Anyways, so Thursday

Woke up at 7AM and went to Turtle Bay East (The bar that the post-race party was held at) and started getting ready for the race.  We worked until 11pm that night with only a break for lunch and dinner.  I feel asleep right after we broke up from our last meeting.

Friday:

HECTIC STRESS DAY.  It was the day before the race, we went from 7am to 11pm again.  I don't even remember what I did that day.

Saturday: RACE DAY

We woke up at 330 AM to prepare for the race.  We got to Turtle Bay East right when it was closing up.  We set everything up IN THE RAIN.  The race and party ran really smoothly, and everyone thought we spent like 100,000 bucks on the party, when in fact, we very much did NOT.  It was nice to see 3 months of work pull off.  Everyone was coming up to us and telling us how much they enjoyed themselves.  THere was this like 80 year old man who was the cutest thing every who ran a 5K! I wish I could do that at 21!!  He's now my idol.  There were also pregnant women running it, and i mean PREGNANT women.  It was cool, though veryyyyyy busy (My feet hurt soooo much)

Saturday Night: hellllll yea, we FINALLY got to relax, after like 3 days of STRAIGHT WORKING.  We pregamed (and umm sorta gave our bosses 16 year old son alcohol, which he wasn't happy about...) and then went to Turtle Bay East that night.  It is a HUGE bar, with 6 bars within it.  Us interns danced until like 330am (at which point we hit the 24 hour mark of being awake).  It was nice cause i finally got to see my co-workers out of the office and relaxed.  It was a lot of fun, and I feel like we're bonded a little more.

I'm still kinda the odd one out of the group though.  I'll never fit in with them cause I am just so different, and they don't really know how to take me.  They don't understand my humor, which makes me not talk like at all, grrrr, and when i tell them I'm going to ozzfest, there like "diana, you don't strike me as the type to go to ozzfest"...made me realize how little they knew me....sigh...all welll....maybe the new interns will understand me better, and I feel like they've started accepting me a little more... we'll see...

Sunday:

we woke up at 7am, left at 8am, and I slept from 8-230 when we arrived in Boston (well, pseudo slept).  We quickly unpacked and then it started to POOR.  Thankfully Greg, one of the interns, gave me a ride.  Unfortunitly...he has a jeep...so the right side of me was SOAKED...but all well, I still got home waaaay quicker and was probably still dryer then if i took the T...

Well thats the hamptons...and today, bright and early, I was back at work.  Sigh...I can't wait til spring break!!
