Oh my god!!! London is in chaos at the moment, and the mobile phone networks are down! It had to happen, maybe we've become complacent....... I'm ok, I hope all my friends are.
They're speculating on the news that its a terrorist attack! Ya think?!! Its to co-ordinated for it not to be. The City is paralysed, and as for the timing? The G8 Summit?
Update:
A series of 6 or 7 explosions across the City have brought London to a standstill. Due to the locations of the explosions and the nature of them, experts are speculating that this attack was designed to cause as much chaos to the transport system as possible, which of course it has, not necessarily to cause a large loss of life. It could have been much much worse. So far there a few fatalities. However, one of the stations hit locally has two trains stuck underground, and there is also a rescue operation underway at other stations. The emergency services are doing all they can obviously. I suspect the death toll will rise somewhat by the end of the day. Having watched the story unfold this morning, I have nothing but praise and admiration for them.
I saw one report that the European branch of Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility although thats not been confirmed.
Tony Blair made a statement which I thought he handled very well. He was obviously very shaken but also determined in what he said. It was a powerful image seeing him surrounded by the other world leaders when he made his statement.
So what now? do we change our daily lives or carry on as normal and show these excuses for human beings that thay we will never succeed. A friend of mine said he was going to work today as normal. I think perhaps he has the right attitude.
It had to happen. It was just a matter of time...oh and apparently according to the scum that perpertrated this "London is burning terror and fear" Well, you know what I think of that? B*llshit! Already people are going about their daily lives...it might take some time to return to normality but we'll get there....we might be in shock but it will take a lot more to make us cower in terror and fear......they are nothing but a bunch of cowards!

So glad to hear that you're okay. Thought of you first when I heard the news this morning.
Business might get back to usual fairly quickly, but the people will not. The US airline industry is still reeling from 9/11...lots of people lost all desire to travel by air.
