Exactly forty-one years ago, I was upset because I could not celebrate my birthday party in kindergarten. School had been called off because of a blizzard. I had never experienced a snow-day before; all I knew was that my teacher, Miss Jensen threw the best birthday parties and I didn't want to miss mine.
Today, it would seem that history is about to repeat itself. It's May First, my birthday, and we've just been put under a Blizzard Warning for the next 24 hours. We'll probably have to cancel my birthday dinner with my oldest and his bride-to-be. The only thing that can make up for it is if I have as much fun jumping in the snowdrifts as I did nearly four decades ago.

Happy Birthday Nick!
Throw a log on the fire for me, and pass around the mead!
Happy birthday, lets see that should make you 46. (unless you didn't gradumate kindergarden until your 30s or sompin)
You know I am going to move way south when I retire, like Iowa.
Happy Birthday, Pal. Keep spreading the good word in South Dakota and don't send that crippled, useless senator of yours back to Washington this fall.
Looks like you got your wish. Start jumping in those drifts... enjoy your snow day.
