It's alllllllllll about Thelonious Monk in the CD jukebox this morning.  I had the auto DJ feature pick out 3 hours' worth of tracks to play while I work...........

I'll be joining the 21st century soon, PC-wise.  My daughter has a brand new PC;  I'm taking over her old one (which is light-years faster/better than the antique I use now)...the worst part is transferring files!

Ugh ... I have to buy a new computer also and I also dread it. Software migration - the bane of the world for centuries to come . Almost as much as dealing with SBC DSL installation. Well, life continues to challenge me and my search from peace .

Thanks for you comments on my Blogs.

I have a friend here in town, Ralph Sharon - he was Tony Bennett's pianist for decades and has played with many jazz heavies (I know him through his son, Bo who owns Lucky's Market just a block from our house). Anyway, he's told me some very cool stories about Monk which I completely dig since I've been raised on jazz (I'm from a big jazz family in Louisiana).

Nothing like 3 hours of continuous T. Monk!

Oh....and I linked a site over at Chris' site about how many sunny days we get here in Boulder. It's actually over 300 days per year. It's just never cloudy here. And when it is, everyone gets grumpy and/or depressed.

Hey, thanks for subbing, Dan.

And by all means, move to Boulder! Over-crowding is long past critical mass anyway. In fact, we're leaving Colorado soon to pursue a much quieter and less congested life (on Orcas Island, Washington).

Boulder really is a fine place to live though. It's just crowded like you can't believe.

RYCOMS re your comment on my site.

DEAN BRAUN DEAN BRAUN DEAN BRAUN!  Chant with me now.  DEAN BRAUN DEAN BRAUN DEAN BRAUN.

Dude, the democratic candidates are FINE.  Don't let AOL/Time Warner tell you what to think!

And you don't have to agree with me that Howard Dean and Carol Mosely Braun are the ideal candidates.  But they are AWESOME, incredible people who are passionate and well-spoken, and really want to fight this trend toward corporate tyranny amd fascism.

Mr. Bush LOVES it when you say that the Democrats don't have any good candidates.

Whoo Hooo!  Now that's some excellent listening.  Thanks for the book recommendation.  My brother had suggested the Robert Jordan series sometime back and then for some reason I never picked them up.   Have them on my wish list now.

Re your comment: America's not ready for a black woman president...

Whoah!  Dude, Moseley Braun is BLACK?

BONUS!  Maybe if we put her out there as a candidate, the black people will care enough about this election to actually fight to have their votes COUNTED.

This country is OVERDUE for a black woman president.  Not Ready?  When do you think it's going to be ready?  There are some inter-city issues that need to be addressed by somebody that gives a damn for a change.

I've never had to transfer files... any time I've been forced to get a new computer it's because the old one has died which means lost data. Oh well, it's a great excuse to start fresh.

i agree that the worst part about getting a new pc (even if it is 'previously owned') are getting your files updated and having all the settings personalized! congratulations & good luck!
