This post was e-mailed to me by a coworker...guess it proves we STILL need help communicationg between the sexes!...

The following is a portion of a National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster and U. S. Marine Corps General Reinwald, who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visit to his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?

GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers.

GENERAL REINWALD: Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

The radio went silent and the interview ended.

On another note, I'll be posting and visiting somewhat, but I got a mild spanking here at work for the amount of time I'm on the 'net for "personal use".  So it'll be less time than before...

Lol...that's pretty...I dunno...eye opening. It's amazing those types of people still exist. Thanks for subscribing to my journal, btw.

i've been wondering about just how much trouble we can get in for screwing around on the internet (you work for XXX,  right?)  we (delphi saginaw) have windows NT,  so i assume that's so they can watch what we do and where we surf (i actually do use the internet for work,  after all...) but wonder how much trouble i could get in overall.  i read sites like zoo's or ones that talk about porn or sex or occasionally show sexual parts.  i wonder how much trouble i'll get in for THAT someday,  or if they just let it go.

As a small child, my exposure to firearms was limited to my late Father's deactivated service revolver from the FBI in his desk drawer. I'd open the drawer and stare at the gun, his brass knuckles, and other memorabilia. Never did I touch it...I was afraid of it. Of course TV shows wern't as violent then. Now as a former instructor of hunter safety, and a Corrections Officer, I firmly believe in teaching proper use of firearms. This I think is better than leaving a child to wonder what it's like to touch a gun. One of my favorite demostrations is to fire a bullet into a watermellon. You should see it shatter into bits. It does get the point across.

That was hilarious. People need to put themselves in another's shoes and then they won't ask such stupid questions. What did she think they would teach boys visiting a military base...quilting?

And I loved his comeback, Who in the hell does she think teaches our young men and women that are risking their lives right now. People like her need a headjob, Sorry but if we do not teach our young how to use firearms, can you just see them someday when one is thrown in their hands to defend this great country of ours, And that is REALISM !!!!

I'm online much of my workday.  We're not monitored, but it IS quite noticeable when we are buried in books... that is when I have to back off... that is what I saw last week.  I work harder than most so it's not an issue.

Lmao thats the way they need to be handled. Gun's don't kill people..... People kill people! The problem w/ this world is not enough parent's get involved w/ teaching their children. Ignorence is what i call it. Lack of knowing. When the learn from their friends they deffinetly are not learning the right way. Take the time to talk to your child... Let them tell you if they are interested in firearm's even if you are not. If they are look up a local gun club ask a memeber when there next gun safety course is and maybe go w/ your child. Remember.. if you don't teach them the right things someone might teach them the wrong thing's. I have thanked god many many times for this great gift past down from my grandfather. And my girls have had the exposure and education of firearm safety. They were allowed to make their own decision on whether or not to become a member of the shooting sports.
