Relics of a (wannabe) misspent youth......

Y'know, those albums up there still sound good today.  And the first 2 (Love It To Death and Killer) are absolute hard-rock classics.  AC was one of the pioneers of shock rock.  As a teenager in rural NW Ohio, Alice was COOL!  A guy with a woman's name?  Songs like 'I'm Eighteen' and 'Under My Wheels' were perfect expressions of teen angst.  And parents HATED him/them....

I'm amazed at how much time's past since these were recorded.  And at how well the music's held up....

You are going to cost me some money.  Every time I come here I get closer and closer to buying a turntable.

Aaaaahhh, those WERE the days.  Even in SE Ohio .  I can't bear to imagine what I'm going to have to bear, aurally speaking, when my kids start buying their own albums...uh, I mean, DVDs or whatever the next gen is....!

I never stopped listening to Alice.  I played 'I'm Eighteen' on my eighteenth birthday, ten years ago.  I hear him all the time on my LaunchCast station.

That fact that parents hate them makes them even better.

Well of course they held up....a guy who looks like a washed up Satan worshipping drag queen is just plain COOL.....even doubly so when parents hate him. I mean really, where would Marilyn Manson be if he didn't have Alice Cooper to steal from? LOL

I know what you mean about Alice. I first saw him in "Wayne's World." Then I saw him in  "Monster Dog." Why can't I find that film on sale anywhere? Man oh man it CRACKS me UP!!! There are a few cds I can listen to over and over again and never tire of them...Otis Redding's greatest hits, "Very" by the Pet Shop Boys, "Abbey Road" by the Beatles and "Transformer" by Lou Reed. And I can't wait to get the White Album cd!

what funny is that he is actually incredibly normal in real life and wears funny golf pants on vh1.  one of my friends saw him in concert.  he decapitated britney spears.
