Last night, while on my way home from work, I heard tracks from the new Pat Metheny CD.

Pat is one of those rare phenomenons who's not only a HUGELY talented guitarist, but also writes stunningly beautiful material.  He ALWAYS makes an emotional connection whenever I hear his songs.

I'm always amazed when people are able to do that by just running their hands over contraptions of wire and wood, and making beautiful sounds come from them.  The same applies to woodwinds and brasses and string instruments w/bows too, of course...

I also think of VeryModern  whenever I hear Pat M., after reading a blog she posted long ago.....
