• Thought I'd sign up to this Xanga thing and see what it's all about

  Where on Earth has Starboy been? Well, Paris for a start, although that was only for a few days. Great place though, and the locals aren't at all snooty. We pushed the boat out and had dinner in a restaurant at the Eiffel Tower one night, which was pretty cool. I almost had some sort of coronary when I found out how much we'd spent

  

  

  Now this is a really great place if you're remotely into art - the Louvre. We spent all days there and I imagine that a true art nut could spend a week or so poking around. The place is huge, big enough to accommodate all those pesky tourists  so we got a good look at the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and all that kind of thing. Very, very impressive place...

  Things are a bit tricky at home at the moment. Not between me and the missus, but due to the fact that her mother is living with us, and has been for about two months now. She's gone out of her way not to get in our way but she's not the most laid back of people and sometimes it gets a bit tense. Still, she should be able to move into her new place sometime this month or next. Am I being a bit lame here? Just bite my tongue and get through it? I guess so, but it's not easy.  Good thing I've got an understanding wife.

  Another good reason for not Xanga-ing recently has been the loss of my broadband connection at home. I foolishly believed my service provider when they said my line could now support higher speeds, signed up for it, and found I couldn't connect at all. Numerous calls established that they'd made an error and my line was still as bad as ever, so I'd have to go back to the old, lower speed.

  It's taken forever to sort out and tonight is the first time in weeks that I've had a reliable connection. And I simply refuse to do dial-up, darling...

  Anyway, time to do some catch-up, and see what you've been doing...
