Exposing Santa

On Christmas Eve I've just finished putting all the presents under the tree and filled their stockings, when little Ms Tangotango woke up and stumbled through the door. She looked and looked again and her sleepy face lit up. She said "There are presents under the tree..." I scooped her up to take her back to bed. She smiled the sweetest sleepy smile and said "Maybe that's Maui's magic wand.... I didn't see nothing.... I didn't see nothing!" and off to sleep again.

The belated Tooth Fairy

On the 23rd of December Maui lost his first tooth. The excitement was huge, and being Maui he was set to catch that Tooth Fairy. With daylight until all hours, it is a real challenge to get Maui to sleep. Add the excitement of a lost tooth and it is a near impossible task. After his finally gone off to sleep, the excitement of the day left him restless and waking up every now and then. To make a short story shorter, my dear spouse, who was responsible for showing the Tooth Fairy the way, fell asleep with Maui, and the Tooth Fairy never found Maui's room! What rotten luck!

The disappointed of a little believer, was almost enough to crush his believes. "Is it all make believe...?" he pondered the next day.

And then yet another disaster strikes. Later that evening he showed off his prized possession to friends, left it outside in a wee yoghurt pottle, who promptly got blown of the table. Ever tried to find a tiny little teeth in a great big mass of pebbles. Not bloody likely!

So once again he's off to bed, with a faith that would put any believer to shame. This time the Tooth Fairy came, together with Santa on Christmas Eve and a letter of apology. Bless her wings!

Dear Maui

I'm so sorry I didn't get to you last night. I was so busy helping Santa getting all the presents ready. By the time we were finished, I had no energy left for flying. Thanks for the tooth. It's in such wonderful condition... you must do a lot of brushing!

Oh.. and if you wonder how I found your tooth... I use special Tooth Fairy dust to sprinkle and the teeth sparkle all over... it was easy to find it on the pebbles. I hope none of my Tooth Fairy dust got stuck on your teeth... you might have to brush... just in case.

Many happy and healthy teeth,
Your friend,
The Tooth Fairy
