Eric Mabius Of Irish and Polish descent, Eric Mabius was born on April 22, 1971. He grew up moving almost constantly. Upon graduating from high school he attended the renowned arts school, Sarah Lawrence College. Immersing himself in acting, writing and film theory, college became the jumping-off point for Eric's first roles in the theater in smaller Off-Broadway productions.
Eric first came to the attention of movie fans with his film debut in Welcome to the Dollhouse. Since then, he has taken on a wide variety of roles, avoiding being typecast. Eric best known being in the box office smash Cruel Intentions, where he plays a prep school athlete who gets blackmailed. Eric got a starring role in The Crow: Salvation and he appeared in Resident Evil.
Eric stole my heart when he appeared shirtless as Coach Krupps on the much-missed WB show Popular.
After Popular, Eric went on to star in The L Word, which won him a new audience. He starred in another TV series, the high tech drama Eyes, but although the series was well received, it never found an audience. Finally success came to this hunk with the smash hit Ugly Betty, where he plays Betty's boss Daniel Meade. On a very random note, every biography states that Eric loves mustard and puts it on everything. When Eric is not performing, he likes to do woodwork and carpentry to unwind. |
