I just came back from a movie called Thumbsucker at Gallery Place. I was really skeptical because Keanu Reeves was supposed to be in it but it's actually really, really good. I've never been able to say this before but it's, like, my favorite movie now. It's about a kid who thinks he has a problem only to learn he really doesn't at all, but it's not the least bit preachy or sappy. The plot - I mean, there actually was a plot - was good but the way it came together was amazing. The director has a really good sense of humor but doesn't take it too far. I mean, a name like Thumbsucker . . . you just want to love it. I gotta see it again really soon.

Oh - and I heard from Dr. Felder, my mother's professor at Howard who I gave a copy of my novel. Apparently it is not floating around somewhere in Alabama. He wrote me a letter saying that he was making his way through the book and would be able to give me comments in about a month. I can wait for that.
