80 Lashes
Saeed Ghanbari received 80 lashes in Iran.
His face was covered and two police officers held his legs while another held his arms. An official hit him 80 times with a cane. Here is the link: Link
What was his crime? It is being reported that he was convicted of abusing alcohol and having sex outside of marriage.

I'll go with GunStarHero on this one.
If he was in this country and did the same crimes, he'd fit right in. I think the guys who have sex outside of marriage should get 80 lashes too. Geez... :| poor guy. Knowing that there are men here who abuse alcohol and have sex outside of marriage & don't get lashes and seeing this poor fellow...it's awful.
*PS- there are lots of men/women in America who cheat & abuse alcohol. it's not like they get 80 lashes. So it is horrifying when you see someone get a harsher punishment for the same crime. It's stricter over there, probably for good reason. Now, learning from example, other people wouldn't want to cheat/abuse drugs in that country either.
What do the men&women here get for punshishment from cheating/abusing alcohol?
nothing, really.
they just get yelled at.
Goes to show that people in America should get a woop too.

I would say how I am ashamed to be from that country and all but its useless...what can you do? Its hoepless. Though I must say, those 9 years that I lived there, I saw things that makes that look like a slap on the hand.
Travesty. Total Travesty.

Rules are rules. Certainly, but the mere characterization of rules are rules doesn't immmediately cast the rule of just or reasonable. In Iran, any non-Abrahamic theist has absolutely no rights to speak of. Or perhaps you ought to reference the rules of Pol Pot or Hitler or Stalin to get a sense of your position's reasonbility.
