War on God
Tony Snow, former White House press secretary, gave a talk the other day claiming there is a War on God in our country.
Tony Snow said, "'The average Iranian is more Pro-American than virtually any college faculty in this country.'" And with serious talk about the war on terror and 'the second war in this country, the war on God." Here is the link: Link
Do you think there is a "War on God" in our country?

Just a war on basic intelligence
Like I said before-- I hope it's more effective than the wars on crime, drugs, and terror.
In a sense, yes. In another sense, it is just plain denial. When we teach God doesn't exist, morals have no basis and they soon collapse.
No. u.u
There is a war of doctrine and faith and religious freedom in every country. God is simply the bystander.
'nuff said...
I agree with IssyMae.
I don't know about a war, but there's definitely been a lot of books on atheism coming out lately. It seems like a lot of people out there are trying really hard to disprove the exsistence of God.
There's only a war on those who war on those of us who don't have some kind of Jesus, God, or saint in their xanga names or have a cross hanging over our doors.
Er...no?
no! Nobody is trying to get rid of god, just separate God from matters of state. BS like this is just another in a long string of scare tactics used by the Bush administration and its allies.

OK. Now I hate Tony Snow. I didn't realize before that he was not only stupid but just plain evil.
A war no, hostility from the secular elect, yes.
And Snow is so right about the USA being more popular in Iran than among college faculty
would god still be on our side?
BTW, Tony Snow is a spin artist. Of course he's going to make the Iranians look good. But he's crock full of shit on this one.

I do not believe there is a war on God, but rather a lack of parents teaching their children morals.
No way, I think guys who look like Jesus are really sexually attractive hipsters.
On God, no. (Post)Modern society encourages a vague thing called 'spirituality,' and belief in an equally vague and rather insubstantial Higher Power is perfectly acceptable in this culture. Talking about God is okay. Talk about Jesus, though, and you're sure to offend--but I still wouldn't call it a 'war.'
No, I am not aware of mass anti-god happenings.
Then again, I am pretty sheltered, going to a Catholic school and all that good stuff.
Wasn't Tony Snow the White House spokesperson at one point?
the word 'war' is a little extreme, but i do think that everything seems to be anti-God these days. even when you're just separating the religious from the secular...well, that's rejecting God, isn't it?
There's a war on everything, these days. :)
RYC: Hahaha. I know, right? Ben is intense.
Wait... no he was the Press secretary, eh, I wasn't far off.
A war on God? Was that on TV?
I missed it.
Yes
How can you wage a war on something that doesn't exist?
I totally sound like a comment-baiter, don't I?
Yes. Definitely!!
