Nineteen is such a weird age. You're an adult teenager, which basically means you're neither one. I don't feel particularly adult, especially with laws lingering over me saying I can't drink alcohol or go to a casino if I should want to do so, but at the same time I don't feel like a teenager. I don't feel absolute dependence on my mom, I've worked two jobs, I've owned the same car for almost 2 years (car's birthday in 2 months, woohoo haha), and to top it all off, I've lived away from home.

Kim and Greg surprised me the other day by the proposition of grilling me a steak for my birthday and then right after that, Jeneane offered to bake a cake. So today, Greg grilled steaks for us, and later we ate the cake that Kim made with Jeneane's ingredients (she had gone home). All in all, it was a great present.

And on top of that, nature blessed central Indiana with great weather today. It got up to 67 and was sunny, amazing weather for this time of year. I would have liked it to have been 87, just for the heck of it, but that's asking a little much for early March I guess. I went outside and handwashed my car's wheels, getting all the salt and road grime off and then took it to the car wash to give it a nice shine. Then I treated it and myself to a tank full of premium grade gas, and drove home. My hood release broke the other day, so since it was nice out, I took the opportunity to take the casing apart and look at what the problem was. It looks like the actual release mechanism is a wire connected to the handle that runs out to the front of the car through a tube. Unfortunately, the wire actually broke off of the handle, and I can't seem to figure out how to get it back on. I could pull on the wire with a pair of pliers though, but I couldn't seem to release the hood, so the mechanism itself might be jammed, or I just wasn't applying the right amount of pressure. Hard to tell. Hopefully that gets worked out, but for now I just put the casing back on, and I'll just live with it.

Spring break starts at the end of this week. I'm actually planning on going home Thursday night after class, so I'll be home from then until either the 16th or 17th since I don't have class until the 18th. I plan on going to my great-grandpa's several times to do a lot more cleaning, oil change, and who knows what else.

This has been a meat and potatoes blog post. I actually enjoy reading these on other people's sites.

I know what you mean. You'll probably still feel caught in the middle that way for a few more years. I moved out of my parents house when I was 16 and didn't move back in until I was about 20. I'm 21 now and have had a lot of life experience- but people don't nessasarily take that into account. So don't fret- you'll know when you're an adult, even if others don't treat you that way. *hugs*

You should wait to go home for a while. I'm gonna be in Indy on Friday.
