The Fellowship of the Ring (The Lord of the Rings, Part 1)

Well, here we go.  We've missed the least two days of school and therefore my update time has been severely limited.  I have internet access outside of these doors, but there are always more interesting things to do when I'm not here.  Go figure...  It has been a long while since I have waxed poetic on this little piece of the internet, but make no mistake, something is in the works.

Today is January 7th.  It's amazing what can be done, seen, felt in a single month.  One month ago today, it was Pearl Harbor Day and Emma Taylor's birthday.  Within that month, we have gone through an ice storm, Christmas, New Year's, a tsunami that wiped out roughly the entire population of Kasas City, Kansas.  The world has grieved, mourned, and celebrated.  All within the span of one month.  One month is a short span of time in the grand scheme of things, but much can happen.  Much can be felt, experienced, learned, lost, gained, destroyed and built.
May your months be filled with more positives than negatives.  More blessings than curses.  More ups than downs.  More heads than tails.  More washers than dryers...?
To Blythe, it has been one month.  One of many.
To all, enjoy your days as they turn into months.  Enjoy the getting up in the mornings to go to your jobs in your cars.  Enjoy your residence with heat that keeps you warm.  Enjoy your space heaters that make your friends' basements livable.    Enjoy the company of good friends.  Enjoy your world.  It's never as bad as it seems.
To my good friend out there who is hurting right now.  You know who you are.  You are never alone, and as long as there is breath within my body, never will be.  But this, you already know.  There is no alone when there are best friends around.  You are and can be independent and strong. (not to mention strong willed)  Be true to yourself, and find the good/wonderful in what/who you have.  "Love actually is all around"  See you Saturday...which is tomorrow.  whoa.

(Taken in Indonesia on January 5th.  Approximately 2 weeks after the tsunami disaster.)

God be with them all.  And with you.

Hey Dehmer,

Congratulations on starting the Lord of the Rings.  You've never read it before right?  Also, it's actually 6 books in 3 volumes, so if you finish the whole thing, you're already half-way to last year's New Year Resolution.  Enjoy Tom Bombadill, but I am for one glad he didn't make the movie, you'll probably see why.  Also, if you really want to dork it up, pick up a  Middle-Earth Atlas, they have ones that follow the books, so you can look at the maps of what you're reading at the moment.  They even have like... vegetation maps and other such nonsense.

something like a dork,

mattnash

I've spent a month with you. It's seems like so much longer, and so much shorter at the same time. I have so much to say, but I can't seem to find the words to say it. I believe an email is in order.
