| Untitled Where was I going with this? Sarah's reflection gripped the sides of the sink and stared at her. Breaking eye contact Sarah splashed her face with cold water. She switched turned off the cold water and turned on the hot. Another splash and she still felt nothing. Her face was numb. The voices of her friends downstairs had faded away a long time ago. Sarah knew that they were still there, just beneath the silence. Sarah pulled a safety pin out of the cabinet. She places it on her cheekbone and adds pressure. Her skin dimples around the point. She still feels nothing. Sighing Sarah filled the sink with water. Sticking her face in, she held her breath and waited. After a full minute Sarah's lungs couldn't take anymore. Before she could lift her head out of the water, her body took a breath. Immediately choking, she sat down on the floor and tried not to die. The familiar feelings of pins and needles crisscrossed her face. Sarah caressed her face until the feeling passed. Another minute later she was able to feel the water beading on her face. She got a second opinion from the safety pin who confirmed that her wayward sense had returned to her. Drying her face with a towel Sarah once again confronted the mirror. Her reflection once again gripped the sink and stared. The voices of her friends once again made their way to her ear. Sarah didn't know if this was in anyway connected to her dreams. She suspected that it was. She started to take a deep breath. Midway through she changed her mind; exhaling somehow felt better. Both Sarah and her reflection kept their grips on the sink. Neither of them knew what to expect.

| It feels good to be a Sailor. It really does. I must admit there are times when this organization gets on your nerves. However for the most part the Navy is awesome thing to be a part of. I'm still in a training command, and won't be heading out to the fleet until I complete my A school. I've been told that life is completely different out in the fleet by some of the fleet returnees I've met here. However I have a good feeling about my decision. Haha, well now that I think about it, you might want to check back in with me in a few years to see if I still feel the same way. I am Proud to be a Hospital Corps school student! Soon to be a part of the ONLY enlisted Corps in the United States Military! | | |

| I Heard That In The Navy.....
I heard that in the Navy
the chow was mighty fine
Last night we had ten puppies
this morning only nine.
I heard that in the Navy
the coffee's mighty fine
it looks like muddy water,
it tastes like turpentine.
I heard that in the Navy,
the mail's so fast it's great
Today I got a letter dated 1948.
I heard that in the Navy
the toilets are mighty fine,
you flush them down at seven
they come back up again at nine.
I heard that in the Navy
the pay is mighty fine,
they give 100 dollars
and take back 99. | | |
