One of the first comments received suggested that we narrow down the topics of discussion. So for the first offering, let's try this. I have my own suspicions, and have heard other people that have the same suspicion that one of the main characters is going to die before this whole thing at Hogwarts is over. What do you think? If you agree, which character?

I heard that someone is going to die. I heard it was going to be Ron. I hope not though because that would just be wrong.

If anyone is going to die it would probably be Ron because it would be the most dramatic, being Harry's best friend and all. so he would probably die to save Harry, very tradegic, I would cry alot. But really I don't think they will kill one of the main children off, maybe just that little asian chic Harry likes, and the killing off won't happen until next book, so we can sit back a relax for another year or 2.

I personally think that if someone is to die (one of the main children) it will be Ron.  It will be a huge impact on Harry, and it might just make Harry mad enough to actually use the Cruciatus Curse effectively on Voldemort during the final showdown.  I know he tried to use it on Bellatrix in Order, but it was halfhearted, and shortlived.  I also believe that Sirius will find a way back to help Harry in his greatest need.  But, as for Ron dying, his character is impulsive, and led by his heart, which is noble, but not always bright.  So, I think he will nobly try to help Harry out of a situation, and he will kick it in the process.

Hey what do people think about Hermione dying? She doesn't seem like it would be her because she is always the sensible one. but what if one time Harry was in trouble or something and she ended up dying? And what is up with her and Krum? They should bring some of that back.

I don't think Harry would use the Cruciatus Curse. I think that Harry using it in OotP was an immature move...it was all based on emotion, hatred, anger & sadness. I think that to defeat Voldemort, Harry is going to have to dig deep, find Tom Riddle and use his (Harry's) goodness to defeat him. Defeating Voldemort with his own evil is like condoning it. He might fight with the temptation, but it shouldn't be a major factor.

If any of the children die, it will probably be Ron. He is really set up to be the martyr. He has really been portrayed in the movies as a big weenie, which I think is a little off from the true character, but of the trio, he is definately not the bravest. I can totally see him sacrificing himself in the end to save someone. Or him dying could be the last straw for Harry...it could also be the last straw for Hermione...I say that because there is a very probable romance between Hermione & Ron.

Jim thinks Harry is going to die. He doesn't know why.

Tragedy meet the Weasleys. I think that one or more of the Weasleys dying in Volde War II is inevitable. All of them, right down to Ginny, are fully engrossed at this point. I am not sure what role Percy will play in all of this. If Ron does indeed die, it would be just as devestating as Arthur dying.
