TOTAL: 129 ONE HUNDRED TWENTY NINE!

The Jews are NOT promoting brain washing children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non Muslims!

The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in German restaurants. There is NOT one single Jew that has destroyed a church. There is NOT a single Jew that protests by killing people.

The Jews don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels.

Perhaps the world's Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems.

Muslims must ask 'what can they do for humankind' before they demand that humankind respects them!!

Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel's part, the following two sentences really say it all:

'If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel.' - Benjamin Netanyahu

  • Recently I was going through a box of my Mom's things that my Dad had brought up to my sister and I. (For those who are more organized than I am, and I know you are legion, yes it is has almost been 5 years since she died and yes I am still going through stuff...the woman had A LOT of stuff.)

Anyway, I came across a little diary that had been my great-grandfather's, Lawrence W Berry. The year of the diary is 1916, the setting is Dallas, TX. As I read through it, I was charmed at the very simplistic notes he made, references to his activity of the day, to my great-grandmother Alice Elizabeth Ketchie and a daily notation of the weather. I would like to share some with you:

    Monday, January 3, 1916
Went hunting. Killed four rabbits. Walked about 25 miles. Cloudy day.

    Tuesday, January 4, 1916
Called to see Alice & we discussed our future. What kind of wedding we would have. Cloudy all day.

    Thursday, January 6, 1916
On five mile creek hunting. Walked about 20 miles. Pretty fair luck. Rained all day.

    Saturday, March 25, 1916
Went to ball game. NY (2) vs Detroit (5) Norther blowing in. Went to City hall to hear Henry D. Lindley speak.

    Thursday, April 6, 1916
Had a long talk with Alice on the phone. I know she loves me a whole lot, but she sure is independent. Rain and cloudy.

Anyway...there is more. I found it fun and funny. I hope you see a little humor too. I will probably blog more entries every now again. I am slightly fascinated by this very brief look at a time, 92 years ago, when Dallas was not the large metropolis that it is now and the land I am currently typing on was all farm...who knows, Papaw Berry might have hunted up this way!

  • A sharp cry and and light sobbing cruelly ripped me out of the sweet realm of Morpheus. As my eyes struggled to open in the darkness and my mind tried to force my body out of the tangle of sheets, the sobbing continued.

"Huh? What?" grunted my husband as the abnormal sounds broke through his consciousness..."I got got it," I mumbled in response.

My tired brain and still sleeping body stumbled through my room toward the sound that had now been identified in the deep reaches of my brain as Sara weeping from pain...

"What's wrong sweetie?" I tried to whisper, but it sounded more like "whasthemattastheetie?"

"Tori's kitty stratched me! She hurt me! I tried to move her off the bed and she scratched me!" she cried.

"Stupid cat," is the response that went through my mind, outloud, "Alright, let's go clean it up and put some medicine on it."

Sara hops out of bed all young and limber, no herky-jerky, stumbling movements for her, oh no. We traverse the darkened living room without incident and enter the kitchen. The blaze of light from the overhead fixture blinds me when I flip the switch. Placing my hands under her arms, "Ok, one, two, three, jump," Sara gently ascended to the countertop by the sink so her foot could be cleaned, and medicated.

"Can you put a bandaid on it mom? It hurts."

"Sigh. I have to find one that fits, just a second." Finding no large ones, I find three to smaller ones to cover the oozing scratches. "Ok. Go back to bed."

Sara runs lightly to her room, happy to have the scratches tended. I continue to stumble to my room and collapse back into my bed, hoping that I can fall back asleep quickly for just a little longer.

The alarm goes off. Stupid frickin frackin froggin frookin cat.

That is how my day started...how 'bout yours?

  • As most of you know, I bake cakes...all kinds of cakes, big ones, small ones, funny ones, scary ones...

My cakes have been labeled "KIMCAKE" by the BK, but yesterday as I was holding a cake testing for three brides, and after they had tasted 6 different cake flavors (or more, I can't remember) and experiencing extreme sugar highs...I finally got the slogan for my little business...

"KIMCAKE...where you can get your high AND your munchies satisfied with just one bite!"

    What do you think?
