How Much Does God Love His Creation

I go to The Theologians Cafe and comment from time to time. Everytime a question comes up about Jesus, Christianity, the Bible, God, you name it, it amazes me how many people just flat think it's all a big crock. Some of the things they are willing to believe just boggles my mind. I won't even get into the evolution stuff.

Why is it so hard for folks to believe in a God who created ALL things, and when His creation turned against Him, instead of wiping it off the face of the earth, He died for it. I mean think of that kind of love if it's even possible for us to comprehend. God loved us so much that He Himself became one of us in the person of Jesus. 100% man and 100% God. He subjected Himself to all that we deal with, He didn't have to. He was in Mary's womb 9 months, born into quite miserable circumstances...I mean in a barn sleeping in a feed trough for animals. Lived a sinless life to show us how to live, but more importantly that He Himself could be the sacrifice for the punishment of our sins. I mean, He took OUR punishment on Himself, what kind of love loves what hates Him. Christ gave His life for ours, His life was not taken. Because of His sinless life, His perfect blood was shed for us and it gave Him power over death to take us back to Himself. Why not just destroy us all and create another race? He loved us too much! Why can't people get that? The Bible says they will call it foolishness and that's what they do. If they could only see THEIR foolishness.

Well, this didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to, I don't think I worded it in the best way, but then I'll never claim to be a writer. The post on Theologians cafe about if Jesus REALLY existed and seeing all the insane comments about it just got me thinking about all this. Someone on a post a while back about Heaven said they would rather go to hell because it would be more fun. I may do a post on what hell will be like, if it's even possible to describe it in the flesh and be even CLOSE to accurate. Anyway, sorry for the rambling, just had to vent a bit and hopefully get you thinking about JUST HOW MUCH GOD LOVES YOU!!!!! Hope everyone has the most Blessed Christmas ever this year. In Christ!

I think you worded this very well. Sometimes I think if people could see the pain and agony with severe burns here on earth (one trip to a burn unit) it would give them a tiny glimpse as to what hell is going to be like. I only use this in a physical realm, it has nothing to do with the spiritual end. To be cut off from God the Father, to know none of his mercy or grace, that to me is one of the worse things about hell.

I am amazed in the crazy thing people believe to have happened to create this earth and man, I'm with you, it takes far less faith to believe in God (over a big bang theory) but people are blind and Satan has them fooled. I am so glad that God shows his mercy every day with this world.

Thanks for sharing Gene, and Merry Christmas, ~Candy

Ouch! Yes, there is such ignorance and arrogance... but then how many generations has it been brewing for? I think the common usage for the word hell has so degenerated to the point that people have no idea what hell means. Sometimes in the common vulgar usage it actually communicates good, fun, etc.

At any rate, our art is to bring them to Jesus and His truth, love and power. Blessings to ya!

I liked this post Gene. I know how you feel. I, too, read those comments at "Theologians" and am continually amazed at the people there and what they think and say. There are plenty of people there who are very bright, but deluded. However, I think there are far more pseudo-intellectuals who spout the "there is no scientific proof" line. As if they would believe even if there were concrete, scientific proof!!! No scientific proof is a neat excuse for them that justifies--only in their minds--their unbelief and the lifestyle that they have chosen, namely one that Satan has convinced them is a good one. I grieve for these folks because one day their knees will bow as they realize--too late mind you--that Jesus Christ is Lord. They will bow willingly at that time, but, still, it will be too late. What a shame. I've been more convinced through reading those comments of the deceptive power of Satan than ever before. We must pray for these folks and show our love when possible.

Blessings to you Brother.

This was a great post.  Sometimes I just have to stay away from Dan's site.  I get to angry at times.  I know I shouldn't but I do.  I think I get angry because there are some people on there that say some dispicable (sp?) things.  There are a LOT of lost people on there and some of them are really filled with hate.  You said it well though.

I look forward to you posting on what hell is like.  Take care friend and if I do not come back before then, have a very Merry Christmas.  Brad

yes, and it the fault of us and our parents and their parents.  This is simply history repeating itself.  It happened over and over in the History books in the Bible.  One Generation would not tell the next one, and by the time three generations had passed, there was no memory of the wonders in Egypt or the conquests of Joshua, and pretty soon, even the pillars of memory were naught but a pile of rocks.  America is the same.  Not me, and not my family!  The rest of the world can be damned to Hell, but those around me that I come in contact and conversation with will not be damned unknowingly.  It is our place to let them know that the truth is that Hell is not fun, that Heaven is not just clouds, wings, and harps, and that the One whose birth we celebrate this season was born so that they might have life.  And it is only He who can give it!

See there, now you got me preachin, and I ain't even a preacher!

Great post. I do think this is one of your best.
I was thinking today about what it means to be made into a new creation. Our minds and hearts are made new. We are born spiritually. It is only when we think with a new mind that God's "foolishness" can be seen as wisdom.

Having spent 40 years hating God and in the occult and new age, I can tell you that submitting to God is probably the one point that drives people crazy. That there is only one way to salvation doesn't make "logical" sense to them, and there can be a lot of hurt that keeps people away from Christ - not to mention some Christians are not really showing the love of Christ. It took a loving pastor 2 years to help me to sort out stuff so that I could finally realize I really, really, really needed Christ, he was patient with me. I pray that as I work with other people that I keep being patient and loving and help them to find what I have found in Christ. Christ is so far superior to all the other lies out there, but you have to be open to it. If you ever want, I have a link to my testimony on my site, and you are welcome to read. God did a real miracle in my life. I just pray that God uses me to reach other lost ones.

It is not altogether undignified to analyze absolutes critically, however it is, for lack a of a better phrase, a leap of faith to make declarations whilst so much continues to be unknown. One of the biggest unknowns to tackle is that of free will. Choice is the true rift between thought and belief. So many are willing to go only by what they know (or do not know) and/or what they believe (or do not believe) and are willing to make the big leap into a declarative affirmation of a great big YES or NO. Few realize just how much there is left to be learned from the past, and fewer still have the tenacity to continue to learn what exactly that past is. I choose, of my own free will, to continue researching before I make a declarative YES or NO. If I can compile enough research that the information - which so many people interpret as their own when it is impartial - proves its own case, then I am willing to make a declaration which reflects the statement the information makes.

However, I have gleaned from experience that it is unwise to use anyone's name in vain.

Leap of Faith - a phrase coined to tell us exactly what the consequences are in a positive way by Kierkegaard was Leap TO Faith - I like that (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leap_of_faith ) for anyone who wants to read the whole of it. I just want to say thanks to you for peaking in on me periodically, even though I'm not much of a blogger. I enjoy what you write and most of all, the depth of your Faith or maybe breadth of your Faith might be more appropriate. You inspire me and bring a smile to my heart when I sometimes falter, as many of us do. I'm off to Sarah's for our Christmas dinner. She bought a laptop a couple of weeks ago, BUT it's still in the box - she WILL get to it - in time. Say hi to your 'all' from us up here in drizzly Victoria, B.C. God Bless You And Yours

An interesting thought about where Jesus was born:  Bethlehem was the place where they bred and raised the sacrificial lambs.  So, Jesus was born in a stable where the unblemished, sacrificial lambs were born.  Crazy, huh??

RYC:  I'm SO glad you liked them!!

We are heading back to my parents house this evening (see latest post) and I could use prayer for my foot/ankle.

Hope your week is going smoothly.
