Oh The Deep Deep Love Of Jesus

Oh The Deep Deep Love Of Jesus

For those who can't hear this song playing on my site, I'm trully sorry. What an awesome song. So many of these songs that Selah sings just make my heart worship our Holy and Righteous God.

This brings me to something that has always puzzled me about people who say they don't believe in God. Most of you know I am sold on God's election, the fact that He choses us, we don't chose Him. Thing is, ALL are called. What does that mean? Ok, you who may visit here that say you are atheist or just plan don't believe in the salvation given to us thru Jesus Christ by God. You've just been told the plan of salvation right there, you've been served  So, do you think God just isn't going to call you. You have a responsibility in this. You can deny what I'm saying, but have you ever said Ok God, if this is true, open my eyes and show me, since I can't do it myself. You may be one of God's chosen but just don't know it yet. "Anyone who calls on My name and knocks, I will come in" If you have heard the Gospel, the ball is in your court, what will you do. May you say like the one in scripture "I believe Lord, help my unbelief"!  If you don't ask, how can you receive. Don't let the fact that God choses a certain elect push you away thinking He is unfair. Whats unfair is that He would be expected to save ANYONE! You could be one of God's elect yourself...not because of anything YOU do. He owes you nothing, He owes me NOTHING!!!!! I think myself some go too far in saying that all those that were not chosen by God for Heaven,  were specifically made for hell/destruction. I think that goes too far myself. Although some WERE made for destruction ie...Judas, Pharoah, and I'm sure other's. I don't think it means everyone not chosen was MADE to go to hell....I could be wrong, but I just don't see that. We ALL were going to hell because of Adam's original sin. God chose out of His grace and mercy to save some from it. Here is your choice right here, You can choose to ignore it, You can ask God to show you and prove it to you. That's all I'm asking of ANY of you who don't believe and say you can NEVER believe. How do you know if you don't simple ASK!!!!! That's all ASK!!!!!! He says He is faithful to answer in His word, just be patient and KNOW He will answer on His schedule!  Ok, that's all I have time to say, hope it made since to those who don't believe in God and the salvation He offers thru His Son Jesus Christ! May God bless you when you seek Him!

In this day and age, I don't know how anyone could make it without faith in God.  He does extend the call, but that person has to answer.  The bible is very plain about how one is to accept Christ as their personal savior, and I believe it to the letter of the law.  I just cannot fathom how anyone can say there is no God when you just look around, everything we have, everything we see, he gave us, but the greatest gift, was the gift of his son and eternal life......... how can anyone deny that.

Okiepugs summed up everything I pretty much had to say...I don't understand how some people can deny the mere existance of God. I mean look around the beauty that he has created...some might refute it by saying "oh well if there WERE a God, why so many people suffer, why so many are starving, dying of illness why so many catastrophies? I believe that God sometimes allows these things to happen because he wants us to seek him. Look at 9/11..WE ALL TURNED TO GOD...People usually seek God when tragedy strikes and then we seem to forget.
In all honesty I believe that the world is in the condition it's in because of sin, because we have kicked God out and/or simply don't believe in him.

We can't put the blame on God, we have turned this world into what it is...

I think I went off the topic..LOL...
Great Post Grampy as always...

Gene, I am sorry if you took me wrong.  The problem I have is that I simply cannot wrap my mind around the predestination idea as you and Cowboy do.  It is not that you or anyone else are not explaining it well.  I am sure you are.  I just can't quite comprehend it.  I guess that is why people accuse me of being hard headed!!!    Take care my friend!

God never causes calamity, sickness or pain...that is all from the curse of sin since the beginning of the fall of adam and eve.  We have free choice...so we must choose to accept His gifts.  He stands there holding them out to all, but if you don't receive them, there is nothing He can do...it is how He set it up...and God never changes.

I have asked, Grampy, and I used to be a believer my entire life. Plus, I think any God who would make people just for destruction (like you said, Judas, Pharaoah) is not one that I'd want to worship. Just my opinion. =]

Anyway, thanks for your advice and all.

@Tallon5 - It's how He not only shows His soveriegnty, but also how He reveals Himself to sinful man. A question for you, if God didn't punish sin, would you still think He was worthy of being worshipped? I have lots to say, but I REALLY would love to hear more from you and talk more about it.   I can be a good and trustworthy friend if you ever need someone to confide in, and I'm not just saying that...I MEAN it. That goes for anyone on here. I don't have all the answers, I'm seeking God too, and His truth!

I think a good God would be just. However, I don't think that any sin merits infinite punishment.
I don't know. I'm not sure if I want to talk about this right now, but if I do, I'll make sure to come and talk to you. =] Thank you for the offer of friendship, the same goes from me to you!

Hey Gene. Just stopped by to say hello and to inquire about the storms. How close were they to you? I thought of you as I was traveling to Kentucky and heard about the devastation in Tennessee. I hope you were spared.

Blessings to you brother.

I think God wants none to be lost, and if people choose to reject God it is their choice. He elects all, but not all want Him. You are right about just asking, but then if you are asking you also have to listen. I spent 40  years rejecting God, and He kept pursuing me. I am so grateful for that, but I used so many of the arguments that many disbelievers use. I was very proficient in them. It is only recently that I have realized how many of those statements were based on false premises. And if you take some of them to their logical conclusions you find that they fall apart. I pray that many ask and then listen with an open mind to the answer.

I can't hear it. :(

My mother loves Selah. They aren't bad.

I don't think Drak took you personally, it was just a weird comment. ^.^

How do you keep your faith in God?

@adifferentkindofbeautiful - Unfortunately it isn't something I can explain, I wish I could, but you really can't explain faith. It's just something I believe God puts in your heart. I just have a peace in my heart knowing God is in control, If it's a blind faith as Earthsalurelight says, then so be it. I keep my faith in God just by seeing the things I see Him do in my life, my families lives and other's that I know. It just isn't something one can lay out proof of, it's lived, and seen in that life. That's the only way I can explain it. Sorry if it isn't good enough, it isn't good enough for Frank.
