Secret Mission Revealed PostEDIT: Thanks for the nice comments and the congrats on our anniversary. Just gonna be spending the day with Grammy, who knows what we'll go do. For those of you who read my pulses, you know I had a secret mission I went on last week. Here it is. Mine and Grammy's 28th wedding aniversary is tomorrow.Probably her favorite Elvis Presley song is "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" . Well, some of you are awear that my son is in the recording business. He has a studio in a friends house that they are hoping to launch a full blown recording studio someday. I had this thought a few weeks ago, I wonder if I could find the acompaniment track of that song and get Keith to record me singing it. I asked Keith and he said, sure, if I can find the song, I can come to his studio and record the song. Last week Grammy went to Knoxville to take some stuff to our oldest who just moved back to Knoxville and was gone from Thurs-Sun. I thought, this is the perfect time to do it. I called Keith and he was able to find the acompaniment track and emailed it to me. I found the words online and printed them out. I went over it several times to see if I could sing it and it wasn't too high for this low voice of mine.So Friday I set off on the mission to get a recording of ME singing this song. I'd never even seen how recording works, so I was looking forward to seeing what my son actually loved so much doing. I learned a lot about it. I didn't know he had so many cool gadget.Anyway, he cued it up and I went over it once so he could make sure he had the sound right. It was funny, I didn't tell him this, but I thought that was the recording and MAN I was doing my best to sing it perfect. We got almost to the end of the song and he stops it and says "Ok, I have it set now" I'm like Man I was almost to the end of the song and hadn't made any mistakes, why did you cut it off. . ANYWAY!!!!! He cued it up again and I'm pleased to say it only took the one take. He did have to edit a little, but not too much. Anyway, here is the song Grammy, just for you. I hope you like it. Now I'm not that well in the romance department and Grammy can atest to that. This is as good a stab at being romantic as I've ever come close to probably. But I love this girl wirt all my heart and I hope she knows it by now. I don't always show it with being busy with other things that I give my time to that maybe I shouldn't give quite so much time to. I just wanted to let all my xanga friends know how much I love and adore my wife, so I wanted to do something "out of the ordinary for me" I've also written a poem. Don't know that I've ever really done that either other than writting a poem for school that really meant nothing to me. This may be the first time I tried putting my heart into it. So here it is: Why Do I Love Thee Why do I love thee It's quite easy to see Your soft spirit calls me So sweet and tenderly Heartache haunts you from the left and from the right But you never give up, no matter what your plight You give and give til you think you are spent Til sometimes all you need is a real good vent With love for your family, you give unconditionally Your last piece of bread you would give all so freely What a jewel I was given by God 28 years ago Which has certainly shown it's worth far more than gold The first time I saw you, a light became a flame The more I came to know you , the more real this light became For 28 years now you've loved me despite myself Even though with me, you have no great wealth Your love for me is always true and sure That's why my love for you will always be pure. Not the best poem around, but it is from the heart. If you REALLY want to read some touching poems, talk Grammy into posting some she has written for different loved ones. Also go wish her a Happy 28th Aniversary too at www.xanga.com/copperknob929 Ask her to post some of her poems. They may make you cry though, because they are VERY from her heart to loved ones. They show the love she has for her family. What in the world did I do for God to bless me with such an incredible wife. Mindblowing for sure. Guys, don't laugh at me too hard, I can see the eyes rolling now. And gals, you can drown the guys out with your aaaaaawwwwwww's .That will be fine with me I don't plan on messing with xanga much this weekend if at all, so if I don't get back with any of you, it's because I'm spending it with my wonderful wife. Have a blessed weekend everyone, and YES, that IS me singing the song! In Christ, ~Grampy~ |
