Happy Weekend

My weekend was very happy.

We had gorgeous weather on Saturday, which is when we went up to Wisconsin, so he could see his brother and family.  They were pretty cool people, and they knew who I was to Dale, so it was all good.  I was a bit nervous meeting them for the first time, but I think, if Dale and I continue, that future visits will be much less anxious for me (I'm always nervous meeting new people for the first time, unless we're in neutral territory, or on my turf).

We slept in Sunday, as opposed to making it to church.  We went and had a late breakfast, came back and watched Stargate (which I had not seen), then went out for lunch, then came back and watched Best In Show (which he had not seen) then went to dinner, then came back and watched Memento (which he had not seen and I did not really remember).  Then went to bed.

Yesterday afternoon, we also had one of those conversations talking about where we are in our respective lives, etc, etc.  The type of conversations which, in my past experience, have led to the end of the relationship.  However, in this case, that did not happen, which I'm very happy about.  Instead, he's realized some things about himself that he's not happy about, and he's going about trying to change that.  I am a part of his realization, and in a good way, so I'm happy just for that.

And then, this morning, I had to take him to the airport so he could go home.   But it was good to see him again.  And to know that we'll see each other again soon.

I got back home, and walked through the door, and his smell still lingered in the entryway.  That kinda got to me.

He called when he got back to his airport (no delays!) and he called me again tonight, so it's all good, and I'm happy and he's happy and we miss each other all over again.

I'll see him again in October.
