Well...

I've just sent off my résumé and cover letter for a different job downtown.  I've been too unhappy with my current position for too long.  While I would love to stay at the company, which has outstanding benefits, I am neither effective nor content with my current position, and opportunities for advancement have not been forthcoming.  Additionally, I'm not making enough money to take courses that would grant me the skills and advantages to qualify for other positions which are available.  In short, right now, I'm stagnating.

I stayed where I was for so long, because I believed the opportunity to move up would be along shortly.  I've been waiting six months now for a very specific position to open up.  And despite her professed intentions, she doesn't appear to be going anywhere.  I don't feel like waiting much longer.

New Apartment Search.  New Job Hunt.  Not much more left for me to do in order to throw my life into total disarray.  Unless I leave Chicago.
