| | The Look
I am not required to wear ties to work. This normally makes me happy.
However, a couple weeks ago, during a brief warm spell, I was wearing a shirt, stepped into the men's room, caught myself in the mirror, and all I could think was, "This shirt looks so much better with a tie."
(Despite my grammar skills, I still succumb to the occasional run-on sentence.)
So, today I was wearing a new shirt I bought for Easter. And, I chose to wear a coordinating tie (an awesome tie, I might add).
I spent part of my day assuring people that I did NOT have a job interview somewhere. I also spent most of the day fielding compliments. It felt good.
I've decided to conduct an experiment, and see how wearing a tie affects me, especially when it's not required of me. I know I felt better about my looks today, even before the compliments started. My handwriting looked better too. So, we'll see if this lasts the week, or if it was just a one-time thing.
But I'll take the compliments. Anytime I get a compliment, I'll take it.
In other news:
Mia Maestro will be joining the cast of Alias. I don't know a thing about her, and it took me forever to find a picture. She's from Argentina, and she played Salma Hayek's sister in Frida. We'll see if she passes muster as Spy-Sis.
