My First Post
This xanga is going to be specifically for my time in Guinea, West Africa.
My other xanga will be on hiatus for the time being, [you can check there if you want to know why] so if you want to know about what is going on in my life, then check back here often!
Until my departure date [tentitivly August 29th] I will be just talking about how my planning and stuff is going.
Feel free to leave me some encouragement, and I'm very excited, but really nervous, as well!!

Actually I was only in Guinea for about a week last September. My dad and I stopped over in Conakry on our way to Kankan and then to a village our missionary friends in Kankan are moving too. Have you seen any pictures of what its like there? Its totally amazing. So different than in the states. I think there's about one paved road in the whole country (but I really don't know) and it has potholes galore... the trafic is insane, but the people are pretty amazing. I briefly met this blinde lady and she said blessings over me, it was truly amazing. Do you know anyone already over there?

Yeah, I bet its scary! But I'm sure you'll make friends fast. One of my MK friends, Jonathan, sends out what he calls "Hoop Scoops" and they have a bit in it of what normal life in Guinea is like. If you were interested you could PM me your email address and I'll give it to him or forward the emails to you. But dont' feel like you'd have to, it just might be nice because you get to hear a little about what Guinea is like forom another person in Guinea, and you would know someoen else who lives in Guinea.
