Well, first the cyclone in Burma
Now the earthquake in China
Who feels a tsunami on the shores of Japan is coming on?
The tectonic plates are rumbling, the sky is churning. I just feel like there's a third act to follow in this tragedy of horrors, and somehow we've all had a part to play. If Earth had a soul, and her name was Gaya, I think we've pissed her off royally by not taking care of her very well.
(Wow, that just completely smacked of paganism. My Catholic teachers would not approve, but it's more romantic and interesting to think that the Earth has a soul, instead of it being a scientifically unpredictable lump of rock).

shit, if i were the earth, i'd have a shorter fuse and less patience. i don't blame the earth for being pissed off at all...but it is tragic that those who aren't harming the earth are getting punished.
(by that, i mean, big corporations should be punished, instead of poor folks in third world countries)
i think the same thing, ever since tsunami, earth quakes, summers in uk, coldenss in australia...things are so out of whack and i think it's building up..to something.
yet, this doesn't depress me at all (although..what does? haha)...i just think, humans are humans, we'll continue along until something happens and if we survive, we move on and evolve. yes, it's good to save the world, be green..but maybe it's a very slack view but...i just dont see the world changing enough to "save" it.
It's funny how you mentioned this. :)
Jung seems to postulate in his work "Mind and Earth" that the earth has an unconscious (soul being the totality of unconscious and conscious). Jung, during his visit in North America, felt the land had had a strong effect on European migrants, ‘indigenising’ them in their sleep! Lol..
People at that time must have thought that he was mad...
Don't forget the earthquake in Iowa. How often does that happen?! Mama Gaya must be royally pissed off.
@j_e_n - i always thought Gaya, the Spirit of the Earth, was a concept dreamed up by the creators of 'Captain Planet' as a kid! Well, we all live on the same planet so regardless of who's to blame everyone suffers :( Have u watched An Inconvenient Truth?
@lc_nguyen - i think something really apocalyptic needs to happen to wake us up from our apathetic view on global warming. Only then will we do something, but right now more money is spent on military missiles than anything :(
@cherritan - does he mean that the land gave 'souless' Europeans some semblance of unconscious self? :)
@NescafeMornings - She's PMS-ing big time :) and I don't blame her. but what can one small person do?
@NescafeMornings - small person being me of course :)
