    OHI~Oral Hygiene Instruction

I usually give OHI with patient holding a mirror while I demonstrate how he/she should brush/floss, also stress on the area that he/she needs to pay more attention to. Usually, I prefer them holding the mirror with their LEFT hand as on the right side has a table with dental instruments.

"Can u pls raise ur LEFT hand to hold the mirror?" I said.
Patient raised his/her right hand and hit the table of dental instruments, making a noise 'BLANG!'

'Can u see the gums here is bright red? Look here, healthy gum should be pink.' I said while pointing at the repsective areas. Patient nodded his/her head fiercely with their eyes closed, not looking at the mirror.

'Can u pls open your eyes? I'm showing you the areas u need to pay more attention to during brushing.' I pleaded. Paitent opened his/her eyes, refused to look into the mirror but at me.

'Can u pls raise ur LEFT hand to hold the mirror?' My nurse asked. A young flirty patient did as requested. My nurse continued, 'Dr would like u to look at ur own face in the mirror b4 continue flirting with her.' Well, of course this is imaginery~ though i admit im very tempted to do so.
