Lets talk about this sex scandal.
Spitzer gets screwed, alot, by high priced hookers. He has three children, and a wife to answer to but disregarded them altogether for his own pleasure seeking tendencies.
Here is the thing. Its a scummy thing to do, yeah, but who cares? I don't care that he slept with hookers. I didnt care when clinton played doctor with monica in the white house either, he was doing a good job otherwise. Here are two successful men who are fairly accomplished in life and they just wanted to get a little nookie on the side.
That is their right, and as awful and horrific it is for the lives that it potentially ruins, thank god it came out this way and not in some awful B movie plot involving some ludicrous blackmailing that puts the whole state in danger.
What does piss me off is that he might have used tax payer money. He traveled to get these ladies of the night, and used my money to pork them?
Come on now, that isnt right, and I want a refund.

I brace myself for the upcoming berage of comments that will surely tell me how tasteless I am. I stick by it. I dont care what other people do in their own bedrooms, just dont spend my money cheating on your wife.
it's also illegal and you really don't want your law makers to be doing things illegally i mean they make the laws they could be honest enough to change them if they didn't fear reprisal from the people they serve above. ethically it isn't good just for that reason alone.

I think it's between him and his family - except if it involved taxpayer money, then he should resign. Otherwise, I feel bad for his wife but it's none of my business.
I KNOW! The whole sex thing was no big deal to me... that's between him his wife and god... but stealing form other people too...

hahaha! I LIVE in NY, and I didn't even hear about any of this until a few days ago. Apparently he resigned today.

His trysts didn't really affect your taxes though, did they? I wondered if it only affected our NY state taxes?? Bastard. But hell, they ALL do it. And honestly, to me....what is soooo much worse is that I know people who pay NO taxes (self employed) and then have the balls to file and get TONS of money back anyway, each year by making BS lists of expenses. Cheaters.

if he had an affair, i would totally agree with you. if he had only been a politician, i could get behind what you're saying too.
but he was the former chief law enforcement officer for ny state! he aggressively enforced exactly the laws he violated, and repeatedly emphasized how ethical he was. so i'm not surprised that people aren't giving him a free pass...

I think you are probably right on with this, but even so, I just don't care who is putting it and where....The only thing I said about this issue at all once I saw it on the news was "He has 3 daughters...maybe he shoulda thought about, gee do I want them hooking, before he went and cheated."
I think it's sick that he did that. but mostly he's only sorry cuz he got caught. not cuz of what he did...and i think it sucks that he might have used the city's money....*shakes head*

I like the way you think. I was telling my hubby while we were in the hospital this weekend that there are so many people who sleep with hookers, why are they making this a big deal? Okay, he's a guy who's up there in the ranks, but just like you said, he's getting more head-line news than Clinton did. It's annoying, get over it and move on you bunch of crack-pipes.
