| "Twas the Night Before Finals"

Twas the night before finals, and all through the college,
The students were praying for last minute knowledge.
Most were quite sleepy, but none touched their beds,
While visions of essays danced in their heads.
Out in the taverns, a few were still drinking,
And hoping that liquor would loosen up their thinking.
In my own apartment, I had been pacing,
And dreading exams I soon would be facing.
My roommate was speechless, his nose in his books,
And my comments to him drew unfriendly looks.
I drained all the coffee, and brewed a new pot,
No longer caring that my nerves were shot.
I stared at my notes, but my thoughts were muddy,
My eyes went a blur, I just couldn't study.
"Some pizza might help," I said with a shiver,
But each place I called refused to deliver.
I'd nearly concluded that life was too cruel,
With futures depending on grades had in school.
When all of a sudden, our door opened wide,
And Patron Saint Put-It-Off ambled inside.
His spirit was careless, his manner was mellow,
When all of a sudden, he started to bellow:
"On Cliff Notes! On Crib Notes! On last year's exams!
On Wingit and Slingit, and last minute crams!"
His message delivered, he vanished from sight,
But we heard him laughing outside in the night.
"Your teachers have pegged you, so just do your best.

| the days are flying by! soon it's going to be back to school time .. oh joy -.-' hahah not that i'd mind it so much .. i'm really really really looking forward to going hooooome to baylor!! i can't wait. heheh this year is going to be so awesome! i'm going to be studying like crazy! cuz hey, you work hard, you party hard, riote .. so yeah the partying is going to be there too! hahaha jk we have so much planned for this year idk if there'll be much time to relax now that i think about it .. ew that kinda sucks 
well it's been quite an eventful weekend .. lets see here, friday night my aunt took my brother and i to go play tennis with a friend of hers. first we ran errands for, oh idk, an hour and a half or so? and then we finally got to the tennis court at 8-ish i'd guess .. left at 11. i slept over at my grandparents' and first thing saturday morning we went to play tennis again, then we went swimming (me, my aunt, and her friend) oh wow the cold water felt sooooo good! only bad thing is, i got a slight tan line out of it. then i had to work 2-7, after which i went to the VPS masquerade party with nga and vanessa .. we met lanchi and her beloved bf there (first time i finally got to meet him!) we left for the party at 9-9:30 and vanessa left first cuz she had a curfew of midnight .. she left at 11:30 i think? and lanchi and her bf headed off to a movie at 12 after they took nga home. i stayed and whoa the party got crazy .. man the things i was seeing on the dance floor...... hahaha i got home at 2:15, finally went to bed at 2:30, but not before i called my darling, of course, cuz he said he wouldn't sleep until i called .. but really i called just because i miss him hahaha
sunday morning i woke up soooo sore at 9 or 10 or something like that .. then i talked to minhduc on the phone for about ohhhhh 5 hours =) yeahhhh that's my new record for my longest daytime phone call! hahahah then we went to a pool party .. it was two of my little cousins' birthdays so they combined it into one big pool party.. Sydney turned 3 and Daphne turned 4 .. they were sooo cuuute! i'll have to post pictures later .. after the pool party we went home aaaand nothing very eventful after that. it was movie night with my mom and brother ~ we watched Flightplan, which is a pretty good movie if i do say so myself. I've decided i like Jodie Foster ~ maybe just because of the characters she plays ~ women who are clever and use their brainpower! i find that so much more admirable than Jennifer Aniston's characters, yanno, the ones who sleep around a lot .. goodness! but hey, whatever floats her boat!
summer school starts tomorrow .. oh boy! hahah and if all goes well and i don't piss off my mom more than i already have, we'll be going to houston this weekend. definitely looking forward to that. it'll be the highlight of my summer! almost. not quite.

| OMG I FOUND THE OTHER 16-YEAR-OLD ON CAMPUS!!! hahahahah how incredible is that?? at the beginning of last semester I heard there was another 16-year-old girl on campus living in Memorial .. they told me she was white and that's all I knew .. then last night we were in Memorial studying for our GTX final tomorrow and I was being a retard again, and minhduc was like, you'll have to excuse her she just turned 17 .. and rebecca goes, hey me too! hahahah and yeah .. can you believe that? we've been in the same Great Texts class all semester! hahah wutta coinky-dink .. and then we laughed with each other bc everyone always makes fun of us for being "young-uns" .. ok that's all i have .. back to studying for exams -.-' god i'm going to fail | | |
