When I take the trouble to pull up a journal site and then see I must be a “friend” in order to read it, I automatically take this journal off my list to read. It’s a silly add on that Xanga obviously thinks is cute and fun. It’s not.

That being said, here is the report from our house.

Beautiful weather, spring like, sort of cool in the mornings, in the high 40s but warming into the mid 70s for the rest of the day. Pretty windy most of the time, but not unpleasantly so. We could use a good rain, but I am not begging the weather gods to do anything especially for me. Let the chips fall where they may. I am so glad I am not living where the weather is really freaky. I’ll take what comes with a minimum of griping.

Gordon is taking the new meds that the pain management doc prescribed. Neurontin for nerve pain, meloxicam, an anti inflammatory and the Vicodin if he needs it for the pain. He couldn’t tolerate the Robaxin, the muscle relaxer. He said it made the pain worse. At this point, I am not sure if he really knows what causes what. He is not taking as much Vicodin simply because he thinks it doesn’t do much to ease the pain.

Physical therapy has been ordered too, but I can’t get him to go because he says he doesn’t feel up to it. I don’t know what I we are going to do about that. Obviously is PT is supposed to make him feel better, he has to work at even if he is feeling bad.

I have been out in the yard as much as I can. I do have a lot to do in the house though so I feel as if I am wasting all the sunshine. At the moment I am deep cleaning the master bath. It is pretty much of a mess but I will get it done today if it’s the last thing I do.

My hardest task today will be what to make for Gordon’s supper. I am easy when it comes to eating. I can make a meal of cheese and crackers and maybe an apple or some sort of veggie, but his appetite and likes and dislikes have changed drastically since his illness. I’m not sure if it’s the meds or what. Anyway, he doesn’t like many of the foods he used to enjoy. I am constantly searching for the just the right meal to peak his interest.

Now, back to the bathroom. Ugh. The sky is so inviting.

Sky over the back fence A plain old tallow tree over our back fence.   I didn't realize I caught a dove perched in the lower right hand corner.    Isn't that blue sky gorgeous?

i finally got out on Sunday and watered all my potted plants, it was nice to feel the sunshine on my shoulders even though we share the yard downstairs with our downstairs neighbors, it's really their yard and they keep it up nicely. someday i'll have a yard of my own again *sigh* if we keep going further into droughts here, i think all my next plant purchases will be cactus!

    It was beautiful today.

yes, I know what your hubby means-I don't like to exercise either. I do get out with the dogs everyday in the yard since they like me to so much.

    take care of yourself ,girl.

Perhaps if you check you may be able to get PT to come to the house. They did that for my Uncle for awhile when he could no longer travel. I'm sure the thoughts of traveling may be one of the reasons Gordon doesn't feel up to it. You know and I know his muscles are wasting away from lack of use.

I dont know what that friends thing is--heck I dont know what half the stuff is that pops up on mine any more--but if mine says that let me know and I will get it off of there

Hope your hubby starts feeling better--got to be something they can do for him--bless his heart and yours too

Norm had home therapy at first, just very mild movements, that was all he was able to do. After that he had two months of PT with a great little dimpled therapist he called his drill sergeant, but it was so hard on him even tho they were mild too, that I felt it was too much for him at that time too. He's not doing any therapy now, and just now trying to walk without his walker sometimes, but it's slow going, this from his surgery back in Oct. Good luck with getting the therapy for Gordon, and sure hope the new meds will help. It's heck living with pain.

I'm not sure where you are, but here, if you are unable to drive, and the doctor orders it that way, you CAN get physical therapy in your home.  Check it out.

Friends lock......ME TOO!!!!   I hate what they've done to Xanga.  I have one lady, who's blog I LOVE to read, but I've gone there three times to leave a comment, and it told me to ask her if I could be her friend.  Not me.   Gonna delete it from my subs list, so I won't forget and waste my time, going there to leave a comment anymore, then not be able to get in.  So now you know the REAL granny.   (o;      (Now, here's hoping MINE doesn't say that when folks come to my site.  It think it's a stupid thing.    If they don't want you to read it, don't type it on Xanga!!!  Right?

@GrannyHummingbird -   I'm thinking that you have to choose to have the lock on your blog, but for the life of me, I can't understand why anyone would want it.    I feel as you do.   If you are going to have an online journal, don't you want readers?     Personally, I love it when my readers comment or give me suggestions, or just say they enjoy the blog.     I had to delete that blogger from my sub list too.

Thanks for commenting and for giving your opinion too.
