Well, this evening was filled with excitement!
I get a call about 6:15 from ADT that the alarm is going off at the drugstore. I rush down there to find 3 firetrucks and about 6 police cars! They have the whole freakin' street blocked off, so i park in a loading zone and go running to the store. I'm met by a fireman who demands that I unlock the stairwell (goes up to my office and the apartments) - as soon as I do, a whole swarm of them go flying up there. I still don't know what the heck is going on. All the while that horrible alarm is blaring all over town. A fireman comes over and says "will you go see if you can turn that damn siren off?" (I would like to point out that I had tried to go inside the store when I first got there but there were 2 cops guarding the door and since at that time I didn't know if there had been a robbery, I didn't go near it) I tell him I'd be glad to if the cops would move out of the way. He yells at them to let me through. I go in and turn al the alarms off and find a fireman inside who finally tells me what the hell is going on. It started off being only a sensor for the sprinkler system. The water pressure dropped (they were working on the line down the street) so the system thought that it had lost water and was vulnerable to fire, so it set off a bell behind the store. A patrol officer heard the bell and called the fire dept - the fire dept take it upon themselves to use there master key and go right in, setting off first the store alarm, then the pharmacy alarm, as they made ther way through the store to get downstairs to check the sprinkler system. ADT then calls the cops 'cause it looks like (and essentially is) a break-in. Between the sirens, bells, and flashing lights of the entire Dandridge emergency force, my nerves were shot. What makes me mad is that I wasn't told what the hell was going on when I first arrived. For the first 10 minutes, i still didn't know if there actually was a fire or if we had been robbed, or what.
So, that was my evening... I'm going to make a Midori Sour and bake a Mother's Day cake now.

Here comes Summer...
I've been slowly decorating for summer - today I did the mantle.
I put up a few lighthouses and nautical things, fish, birds, and of course, the obligatory Aruba photo!

And yes, I know that double frame on the wall is empty.
It will soon be home to two photos from NY, but I can't decide which ones yet, so it's empty for now. LOL

A day off work...
I had my yearly eye appt this morning to get some more contacts - my prescription didn't change again - sooo cool. For the longest time, my eyes would just get worse and worse, but they leveled off about 5 years ago and haven;t gotten any worse since. yay! Orderd a new kind that are supposed to be for allergy eyes. We'll see.
When I got home I got started on making my little vegetable garden. Even though it's small, it was a lot of work because I had to remove all the sod first. Gah! My back hurts. I planted six tomato plants, 3 pepper plants, and 1 cilantro 'bush'

Now to patiently wait 3 months for some nummy fresh tomatoes!

Trish - RYC - Yes, Pudge is still a big hairball. LOL In fact, I think he keeps getting bigger!
Everyone that sees him for the first time always says, 'wow, what a cat!'

Here he is in his favorite room of the house, the screened-in back porch...

I remember posting ages ago that I was going to post a picture of the outside of the house, but I never did.
Here's my little house and my little backyard:
