Yes, I know that I promised to be around a bit more often but then that dreaded word, DEADLINE, raised it's ugly head! I'm beating myself up trying to get two stories out to two different publications by tomorrow! Arrggh.
If you haven't figured it out yet by reading me, you probably have questions as to why I say Arrgh an awful lot. I've actually got emails from some in Xangaland criticizing me over this Well I thought it was funny that they didn't have anything else to do! Anyway, I say Arrgh in replacement for cursing. With my first set of rugrats, I got in the custom of saying 'rats and sausages' in lieu of some pretty rank cursings(hey I worked in both the theatre and music industry, gimme a break). So now you know. It keeps me out of trouble with my kids anyway.
I actually took some time off Friday and went to some garage sales. Not much to be scavenged through in a town the size of Bowie but came up with some clothes for the girls. Although I am perplexed at some who have these sales. One woman was selling her young daughter's clothes for $10, $15 and $20 a pop! For a town who has an extremely high unemployment rate, that was a bit steep. I realize that these garments were Old Navy, Land's End and the like but jeez louise, they're used clothes. I could have gone to an Old Navy end-of-the-year sale and bought new clothes for those prices! NOTE: garage sales are not for boutique-owner-hopefuls! Garage sales are for when you are trying to unload your old junk and make a tiny bit of change in the process. NOT to foot the bill for your kid's college tuition!!

Gary came home holding his glasses in his hand. So off to Wally World we went to get him some new 'spectacles. $280 later..well let's just say he's a prime candidate for a heart attack right now! It doesn't pay to get older...no line bifocals, glare guard, poly carb..it adds up. Remember when we were all kids and just couldn't wait to get older? If I had my druthers...so to speak.

Well off to our house hunting expedition again this afternoon.  A friend of ours just 'has to have' us look at an older house near him. Of course, this guy lives in a 60 yr old barn so who knows what it'll look like! He's your 'Mother Earth News' type so he might have an even older barn for us to live in.
Hey, if it doesn't have a $1,000 mortgage attatched to it, I might bite!
