AND THE BEAT GOES ON
Well the power is back on in the Eastern section. My sister lives in NYC and informed me that her apartment became one large slumber party! The local Irish pub had a melee of customers with the bartenders operating by wearing miner's hats(the type with a light on top)! Business as usual!
The only thing that really bothered her was all that meat and dairy products she is having to get rid of! Actually it sounded a lot like when hurricanes hit the Texas coast and we have to go without power for a few days.
Well we received Mr. Bush's check last week. A whole whopping $800 and it's already spent! With bills and school books to buy it went fast. Of course, it wasn't exactly 'free' money since we'll have to pay taxes on it later in the year. Remember, it's an advance child tax credit. As the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is!
I'm getting in the cake design business(apparently). Finished making yet another child's birthday cake and have several more orders for Christmas. Like I have time to do anything else these days
Had to make a run to an used book store in nearby Denton. Didn't find any used schooltexts(was looking for Saxon books)but found a few reference books and still came away with a $60 bill! Did I ever mention this is my favorite store It's an old opera house that now houses gently used books, records, CDs, DVDs, videos and cassettes. Yes, next time I'm just taking my sleeping bag and camp out!
<sigh>Still have to find some more school books though. And I have to promise to stop buying leisure books on this jaunts.
Nothing much on this end; just recovering from my buying spree(including kid's shoes). Just wanted to let you all know that I'm still around.
Xanga can blame the blackout if they want to but I haven't been able to get on here for several weeks now. Hopefully the power outage may have helped things. Who knows, we will definitely see.
