Ok, so I hope everyone had a good Easter and Passover. For once the Western (Catholic and Protestant) churches and the Eastern (Orthodox and Coptic) churches all celebrated Easter on the same day. Too weird. All right So my interview wen well. think they can help me. Anyway, I also had a day-long assignment yesterday. It went well. Well, anyway, I have been doing some thinking about what classes I should take this summer. I am leaning toward either 19th century Europe or Modern Latin America. I might do Modern Latin America because I need to take a course in either global or non-Western (Asian/African/Latin American or Native American) history. Why 19th Century Europe? Well, it seems like fun. Also I am thinking about an anthropology class and a creative writing class. We'll see.
Ok, rant time. Most of you know by now that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Syrian President Bahir Assad last week, and actually wore a veil while she visited a house of worship. Needless to say, Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, and Orally (excuse me, O'Reilly) started going nuts. But keep in mind, ladies and gentlemen, her two immediate predecessors, Gangrench and Pig Bastard (excuse me Gingrich and Hastert) both went on trips abroad while House Speaker, and both dealt with foreign potentates, coutermanding Clinton in the process. Where is the outrage there? Assholes. Oh, and the House Judiciary Committee has subpoenaed Alberto Gonzales. This is what happenes when you have adults in charge in DC....responsible government.

Funny how Republicans forget things like Reagan directly negotiating with Iran during the 1980 hostage crisis and Nixon directly negotiating with the North Vietnamese in 1968, both kept crises going longer than they otherwise would have.
