IHOP - We had a good breakfast this morning at the local IHOP. I actually went out on a limb and had the new Crab & Shrimp Omelette! DELICIOUS! I was a bit concerned having seafood for breakfast but it was GREAT!!!
BRIDAL SHOW - We went to the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show at the Valle Vista Country Club in Greenwood. We have never been to that show and wanted to check it out and see some friends.
DAYTONA - I am sitting here with the laptop waiting on the 500 to start. I get to watch it in HD!!! Cybil is going to do a bit of editing while the race is on.
THE GOLDEN RULE - First off....Cybil and I both pride ourselves in doing the right thing. There are situations that come up on a daily basis that allow an individual to make decisions of what's right or wrong. Sometimes...those decisions can be in your favor or not in your favor.
Like today....frankly...we had really bad service at the IHOP this morning. Without going into detail....we didn't let it alter our decision on what happened with our check. Let me set this up...Cybil initially ordered water...after we got our food she wanted a coke. When we got out bill we were not charged for the coke.
At IHOP you do not pay your server. You pay at the counter where they have no idea what you ordered. I was presented with the decision as to tell the cashier or not. Of course...I did what I thought was right and told her that we need to add another coke to the bill. She looked at me like I was crazy. The thing is...by doing that...I know that it will come back and help me someday. Did it cost us another $1.70 today....YES...but it may keep us from spending a lot more down the road on something else by messing over somebody.
Whether it is a business or an individual does not matter to us. Some people would say that we have good luck or good karma. We don't. We honestly feel that that is the reason things seem to go our way in our day to day lives.
Why do I bring this up?!?!?!? It's our blog so I am going to vent on it and I wanted to plug the Golden Rule! It just seems that where ever we go....we see and hear people complaining. Always trying to get a better deal or something for free at somebody else's cost. These are typically the same people you see in the parking lot with a flat tire or a dent in their door from a shopping cart. Of course...to them it was just bad luck!
If I was to not tell that cashier about that $1.70 for the coke...who knows what could have happened to us today or some where down the line!
Just follow the Golden Rule....it really does work!!!
