Getaway

I am heading out this morning on my overnight getaway with Brandon's mom and Aunt Jenny.  Brandon has told you how much he's going to mope around while I'm gone.  He'll be busy though.  He will go to our Open House tonight and tomorrow he will go to the Perfect Wedding Guide professionals luncheon for some networking.

We're headed up to Ft. Wayne for the Vera Bradley outlet sale tomorrow morning.  We went last year for the first time.  We had so much fun that we decided that we had to go back again, but this time we Pricelined a hotel room and will go up early today to do some other shopping.
If you've never been to the Vera Bradley sale (which most of you probably haven't been), it's quite an experience.  If you were a fan of the TV show "Friends" the sale almost reminds me of the episode of Rachel, Monica and Phoebe shopping for Monica's wedding gown.  You go in to this large room (it's at the Ft. Wayne Coliseum) and as you walk in the door, you are handed an extra large pink trash bag.  There are tables and tables of Vera Bradley bags and accessories piles 3 or 4 foot high.  You start grabbing everything you can and stuff if into your large bag.  Once your bag is so full that you are dragging it, you sit down around the outside of the room against the wall and start going through your treasures.  Many women start making "definitely keep," "still thinking about it," and "I don't really need that" piles.  Then, you can walk around and look at their piles.  If you see something that you like, you just ask if they are keeping it or if you can have it.  Most of the times, they are more than willing to let you take it.  After you have made your final selections, you go stand in line (last year we didn't have much of a wait, but I was told that some people wait 2 hours or more in line!) to pay for your stuff.  Unfortunately, they keep the pink trash bag and give you a Vera Bradley logo shopping bag instead.
Anyway, tomorrow should be a fun morning for us!  I'm looking forward to what kind of bargains I can find!
