| | In the local wedding industry we have discussed with other wedding professionals the new trend of more and more Friday/Sunday and "Off Season" (winter) weddings that we are seeing. Of course, Saturday is still the most popular day of the week for weddings, but Brandon and I have done more Friday or Sunday weddings this year than we EVER have. We typically have only 2 or 3 Friday or Sunday weddings in a year. This year, out of 37 weddings we have on our 2007 calendar, 12 of those fall on a Friday or a Sunday! There are a few reasons for the Friday or Sunday wedding. One is, the couple wanted to get married on a certain weekend or Saturday, but their church or reception hall was already booked, so they opted for the day before or after. Also, what they are finding is, they can often find deep discounts for Fridays and Sundays, compared to a Saturday wedding. Wedding guests enjoy the Friday or Sunday wedding. With the hectic schedules of today, so many families fill their Saturdays with kids' sports, yardwork, home repairs, grocery shopping, etc, so a Friday or Sunday wedding sometimes allows more guests to attend that wouldn't otherwise be able to make it on a busy Saturday. Just a little tid-bit that I wanted to share with anyone planning their wedding. |
