| | TIME FOR A SHORT UPDATE ON BIG EVENTS
i know you guys just sit around waiting for my blogs...but i've decided to end the suspense and tell you what's been up lately. two major events (no, i'm not pregnant - i know you were all thinking it...):
1. our amazing campus pastors, nick and becky callaway, are officially being called away from LSU back to nick's alma mater, university of oklahoma (OU). OU chi alpha was where nick and becky both began their journeys in chi alpha - they were discipled there by current campus pastor greg tiffany, they were called to ministry there, they learned how to minister there...so i know that to be asked to return and lead the chi alpha group that had such an impact on their lives is a huge honor and we are sad to see them go.
what does this mean for us? well, a few things. we told nick and becky we would stay at LSU for 3 years or longer. we are working on year #2 right now so we are still gonna be here for year #3. and we are considering staying here long-term as the primary campus pastors. basically, we're in the works to make that happen and assuming that all the powers that be agree with us, we will be staying to work at LSU for a long time. wow...big news!
2. i got way sick and went for a little visit to the ER where the nice lady nurse and not-so-nice man nurse gave me some wonderful medicines that have made me feel oh so much better! so, to them i say thank you even though you had to stick me 5 times with needles (3 IV attempts, 1 IV success, and 1 shot) that hurt and almost made me pass out. i appreciate your years of study in the art of "making me feel better" - that's layman's terms! but come to think of it, that's not such a major event after all...it's just the most recent (i.e. i still have the dumb, sticky tape marks on my arms from all the attempts at IV's).
